Colour Laser That Punches Above its Price Range
Review of Konica Minolta Magicolor 5430 DL by AaronC

Advantages: Colour Print Speed, Print Quality, Network Ready, Fewer Consumables
Disadvantages: Lack of Seperate Paper Feed

This is Konica Minolta's first "in house" manufactured Printer, and the effort required to make a good first impression certainly shows. It is sturdy looking without being too utilitarian. Photo quality is good, there is room for improvement, but this would only be required/desired if you were perhaps involved in the graphics industry. At 2400dpi though, it certainly gives detailed enough photo's. I have seen Estate Agent Particulars printed with ...
...the 20 Colour PPM that Konica Minolta quote in their Specifications. The printer has stamina, with a duty cycle of 60K pages per month. This is quite enough for most small to medium sized offices. In my experience mostly Estate Agents and Schools purchase this Printer. The quick throughput and Network connectivity suits them perfectly. For a little over £300, you are getting a printer which gives performance way over what should be expected at ... Read review

A cheap, high quality colour laser printer
Review of Konica Minolta Magicolor 2550 by Paulshistory

Advantages: Small, excellent quality output, takes glossy paper and networkable too
Disadvantages: Slow to print in full colour

...good, in my opinion. Konica Minolta describe the print resolution as PhotoART-9600TM resolution (600 x 600 x 4) and I have to say that it's excellent. The printer weighs almost 20 kg, and takes only a few minutes to set up from the accompanying instructions and CD ROM. A huge benefit, not often seen in a printer at this price, is that apart from parallel and USB connections, the printer also comes with an ethernet connection. This means that it ...
...ethernet cable. Whilst this may sound a bit confusing, if you've got a home network you'll know that if a printer is connected to one PC, then even if you're using a different PC, the one that is connected to the printer must be turned on to enable you to print. Well, with this printer, if it's connected via the ethernet cable to the network, then you don't need to leave any other computers on - you simply print from the computer that you're using ... Magicolor 5550
Review of Konica Minolta Magicolor 5550 by bomberone

Advantages: Fast, excellent print quality
Disadvantages: Too many limitations

The 5550 has excellent print quality and its quick. It should be, because it is sold as a high duty-cycle commercial machine suitable for networking etc. But it cannot handle glossy or thick stock in the lower paper trays, plus they have no availability for custom sizes in them either. So, you can have up to 3, 500 sheet paper trays, but you can only load them with plain A4 stock. The duplexer suffers the in the same way. The practical result of ...
...tray that holds only a maximum of 100 sheets. Then, if you want your beautiful photo-quality glossy brochure printed on both sides, you have to return to the printer, turn the paper over and start again. All in all a potentially great machine that suffers from poor design and lack of flexibility. Sadder still, this is a problem that appears to be suffered by the whole range ... Read review

A printer good for home use
Review of Canon PIXMA IP2500 by Sweetpea1075

Advantages: Inexpensive, Nice design, modern looking, OK for everyday use
Disadvantages: Noisy, takes ages to start up, goes through ink quickly

...had broken. I have a Canon camera and know that Canon is a good well know brand. It also looks nice and modern and has a nice shiny black finish. For the jobs that I want it to do at the moment, it performs well, although I am hoping to print out some large photo prints in the near future, so will be upgrading. For standard photos and written documents, it does the job nicely, although some of the colours on the photos did not come out the same ...
...the printer itself, as my PC may not be set up correctly. The disadvantage is the amount of ink it uses. I have never used so much over the last few months, especially if you are printing out photos - it is not a cheap option. Much cheaper to get them done at processing lab or online. The ink is not cheap for this printer either, compared with other similar printers. Although I have found that even when it says it is empty, there is still actually ... Read review
