I have never had any problems with this machine at all, I have printed literally hundreds of 60 inch by 40 inch pictures on it, you do have to look after the machine try to keep dust out of it don't put dusty paper rolls in. Try to stick with official paper it does a better job. as for running costs well in my experience based on the ammount of ink I put on a poster: on a 42 inch roll this machine costs in the region of £7 per metre ...
