Decent cheap printer
Review of Canon i 320 by
random76
Advantages: Cheap, good quality
Disadvantages: Quite noisy
I spent a fair amount of time researching printers before I bought this one just over a year ago and I am very satisfied with it.
Mostly I use it for text only but I have printed out a short book of pictures with it (as a present) and it was good quality. I’m sure there are better printers, but they are far more expensive. The i320 is a good quality cheap printer. The ink cartridges are fairly cheap too, which is a bonus. I have been using Canon-compatible ... ...yet) without any trouble. It’s not a particularly quiet printer, but neither is it the noisiest I’ve heard. If it’s in your bedroom I wouldn’t leave it printing while you’re in bed, but apart from that it’s not too loud. My only real complaint is that it doesn't come with any kind of tray to catch the printed pages. Apart from that I'd recommend it without hesitation. ...

CAD printer it is!
Review of HP Deskjet 1220c by
migitaldave
Advantages: Fast, cheap, A3
Disadvantages: slightly impared and slower on pictures
...Only ever buy Epsom, Never HP or Lexmark - because of the cost of ink. So when i started my new job as a design engineer, and i was given one of these printers with a monstrous cost of ink, i inquired why we didn't use Epsom. I was told i would see why soon enough..
so i soldiered on - and it occurred to me that up to this day i have not changed a single cartridge...it has been 11 MONTHS!
11 Months without a cartridge change, and they only cost ...

Cheap and cheerful
Review of HP Deskjet 930c by
chrisball2000
Advantages: Cheap, reliable compact design
Disadvantages: Single colour ink cartridge - expensive to replace.
I bought this printer about three years ago when my old Deskjet 660c gave up the ghost. This model has to be the best printer I have ever bought in terms of all round performance. Its main qualities are its reliability and its size. I have never had any major technical problems with this printer, something that I can't say about my newer Epson one. Also it is very sleek and compact and fits neatly on my shelf at home - it has a good space saving ... ...cartridge so it can be a bit expensive to get a replacement when one of the colours runs out. (Approximately £20 -25 a time)
Installing this printer is as easy as it gets. It comes with clear instructions of how to install leads and drivers and it also supports USB. If you have a Windows XP system it is quite likely the drivers are already in Windows database. You can quite literally plug it in and use it straight off, without having to install ...

HP 990cxi - What a fine machine!
Review of HP Deskjet 990cxi by
HCGJr
Advantages: I stopped counting after 100.
Disadvantages: Maybe 1 - not really sure.
Well, what can I say? Probably the best thing I ever did for myself and my money (printerwise). I bought this printer.. hmm, actually I cannot remember when anymore. Anyway, it was many, many years ago... and still an excellent performer. I never thought this workhorse would last for ages despite the " whipping" and abuses it had gone thru! It just keeps on running no matter what. What a fine machine! I was at first apprehensive to purchase this ...

Fantastic quality for a low price
Review of HP Deskjet 970cxi by
wimsimons
Advantages: Fantastic quality for a low price !
Disadvantages: Did not found yet
...I do not think HP has come with a more recent equivalent for this printer yet.
I used it to print photos, letters, faxes, letterheads, invitations, ... I even printed my company envelopes with the machine and they look really professional. The color quality is very bright, even on normal paper. You do not need glossy to have good looking photos. I would recommend this printer to anyone (business and consumer) who is looking for a good quality printer ...
