Lexmark E120N - Networked Laser Printer
Review of Lexmark E 120n by fuzzyworm

Advantages: Built-in network print server, fast printing, fairly low cost, support for Linux
Disadvantages: Non-trivial, but not impossible, network installation under Windows XP

...major problem for me, as Lexmark consumables are notoriously expensive. However, after reading up on it a bit, I find that Lexmark offer a 'Returns Program' toner, which is priced at a reasonable level, with the condition that the toner be sent back to them after use, presumably to compete with the likes of Cartridge World. As I have mentioned, the main requirement for me was that the printer supported Linux, and this one does. It also supports: ...
...was quite easy, using the Lexmark provided utility. Once I had it running, it was impressive to behold. Having had a reasonably fast inkjet printer before, I was expecting it to be fast, but this thing blinded me with its speed. It is rated at 19ppm (A4), 20ppm (Letter), and I would believe it too. The specification says that the printout of the first page should be within 8 seconds, and this could reasonably be said to be true. Image quality, ... Read review

OK for under £40
Review of Lexmark Z 645 by curious_k

Advantages: cheap, good for black ink, easy to buy cartridges, "low ink" warning
Disadvantages: annoying software, not so good for colour printing or high quality stuff

...this option from within the Lexmark options screen (via Control Panel), unless you like to hear "Printing started!" in chirpy American every time you press print. Usefully, it'll monitor ink levels and warn you when they get low, with a link to the supplier's website. I get good results generally with black ink, variable with colour (sometimes either the blue or red ink seems to 'cut out'). Occasionally pulls in the paper at a wonky angle, say 1 ... Read review

Good all round home office/small business printer
Review of Lexmark C 510n by goldenmayc

Advantages: Fast, very good picture/print quality
Disadvantages: Noisy, ink remaining stats not entirely accurate

I bought this last year to replace a series of very old and equally dissapointing ink-jets, and was very pleased with the product. Being my first laser printer I was unsure of what to expect, but obviously with the price increase from ink-jet printers i expected an improvement...and my expectations were definately fulfilled! The printer is noisy, and takes a minute or two to warm up, but otherwise great for general use. I found it extreemly straight ...
...newbie to lasers) and it was up and running within 15mins of opening the box, accessed by all three pcs on my network. Printouts are fast, and providing the toner cartridges have plenty left in them, excellent quality. I have used the printer for a range of tasks, anything from pdf manuals to family photos, no problems. The only slight downside is that the printer's built in toner level monitors never seem to read quite true..for example all three ... Read review

A quick small laser printer, with looks to match
Review of Lexmark E 323 by kev19687607

Advantages: small, quick, dark grey colour
Disadvantages: rear feed paper tray

...look no further than the Lexmark E323. The first thing that you will notice about this printer when you eagerly unwrap it from its box is the colour. AT LAST !! We have a printer that isn’t the normal beigey/white/greyish colour that most IT equipment seems to be, you know the colour that’s going to have a horrible yellowish tinge in a few months time no matter if you smoke or not.... This is the printer to break the mold, it’s a bright charcoal ...
...has just proved that my Lexmark E323 printer only takes 30 seconds until its ready to print. Another quick press of the "continue" button will print off a self-test which takes 10 seconds between me pressing the button and being able to read the sheet (and no fear of smudging) Print quality is 600 x 600 dpi (dots per inch). You can certainly notice a difference in sharpness between a letter printed by a laser printer and that printed on an inkjet. ... Read review

Exceptional printer, affordable price-however.
Review of Lexmark C 510 by morz1975

Advantages: Good all round printing, exceptional quality at an affordable price.
Disadvantages: Expensive Toner replacements

The lexmark C510 is an exceptional printer at an affordable price. That said if you are looking for a cheap laser printer then look no further but if you are looking, as I was, and you want a printer to handle a lot of printing then you need to weigh up the costs of the toners. The C510, having 4 toners is not the cheapst printer to run in this price bracket and the toners themselves can cost anything from £40 to £60 each, yeah each. If like me you ...
...to understand that the toners are THIS expensive. They don't tell you that when you buy it, perhaps I should have looked into the cost of toners before I bought it. Well after saying all that I still can't fault anything about the printing capabilities of this printer cos everything I have asked it to do, it has done. The only downfall is that if you ask it to do too much then you are obviously gonna have to be buying toners. The C510 is also not ... Read review
