Lexmark E120N - Networked Laser Printer
Review of Lexmark E 120n by
fuzzyworm
Advantages: Built-in network print server, fast printing, fairly low cost, support for Linux
Disadvantages: Non-trivial, but not impossible, network installation under Windows XP
...major problem for me, as Lexmark consumables are notoriously expensive. However, after reading up on it a bit, I find that Lexmark offer a 'Returns Program' toner, which is priced at a reasonable level, with the condition that the toner be sent back to them after use, presumably to compete with the likes of Cartridge World.
As I have mentioned, the main requirement for me was that the printer supported Linux, and this one does. It also supports:
... ...was quite easy, using the Lexmark provided utility.
Once I had it running, it was impressive to behold. Having had a reasonably fast inkjet printer before, I was expecting it to be fast, but this thing blinded me with its speed. It is rated at 19ppm (A4), 20ppm (Letter), and I would believe it too. The specification says that the printout of the first page should be within 8 seconds, and this could reasonably be said to be true.

It really works it's life!!!
Review of Lexmark Optra E+ by
bcnlondon
Advantages: Very long working life
Disadvantages: Installation might be a pain in the neck!
...PS2 under the name e.g. Lexmark PS2 and once - better printing quality - as a PCL5 under the name Lexmark PCL5 - faster print speed) and try to use it once as a PS2 and once as a PCL5. This will confuse the printer driver which will start printing the printer software code.
For your own protection I strongly suggest you to avoid installing MarkVision (the Lexmark printing control panel facility) which was especially made by Lexmark to drive you ... ...heavy duty printers ever!
Lexmark recommends to print on paper stock of up to 180 gsm, while I have printed - with a little pushing - paper stock of up to 300 gsm with no problems.
If you are a graphic designer, you will find Optra E+ (with PS2 enhancement) ideal for printing in-house newsletters and other mass mailing documents (brochures, flyers etc.). The Optra E+ prints at 15 (heavy graphics + pictures) to 30 (text + simple line art graphics) ...

A quick small laser printer, with looks to match
Review of Lexmark E 323 by
kev19687607
Advantages: small, quick, dark grey colour
Disadvantages: rear feed paper tray
...look no further than the Lexmark E323.
The first thing that you will notice about this printer when you eagerly unwrap it from its box is the colour.
AT LAST !! We have a printer that isn’t the normal beigey/white/greyish colour that most IT equipment seems to be, you know the colour that’s going to have a horrible yellowish tinge in a few months time no matter if you smoke or not....
This is the printer to break the mold, it’s a bright charcoal ... ...has just proved that my Lexmark E323 printer only takes 30 seconds until its ready to print. Another quick press of the "continue" button will print off a self-test which takes 10 seconds between me pressing the button and being able to read the sheet (and no fear of smudging)
Print quality is 600 x 600 dpi (dots per inch). You can certainly notice a difference in sharpness between a letter printed by a laser printer and that printed on an inkjet. ...

A cheap and cheerful laser printer
Review of Lexmark E 210 by
Patrinfikulo
Advantages: Fast printing; toner lasts forever; jam detection
Disadvantages: Absence of onboard processor
I purchased the Lexmark E210 about 9 months ago now, packaged with a trial toner cartridge. After printing printed hundreds of pages over the 9 months, I am still using the trial toner. Considering the fact that a new toner cartridge costs about £65, this has to be a major plus point, and luckily a new one would (I hope) last for years. If you measure this against the two inkjet cartridges (colour and black-and-white) I use every year on my Hewlett ... ...ink-coverage per page.
The Lexmark offers a 600x600 resolution. That’s pretty decent for a laser printer, but pales in comparison to the 4800x1200 offered by most inkjets. The 4800x1200 claim is, like the speed-claim, overrated. The new 4800x1200 printers can’t put 4800 drops of ink per inch. They can put a drop of ink in any of the 4800 spots. There’s a subtle difference there. Even though the resolution claims are somewhat overstated, you’ll get ...

Lexmark E310
Review of Lexmark Optra E310 by
dawsonaj01
Advantages: Fast print speed
Disadvantages: Expensive toner
I baught this printer off ebay for the small sum of £1.40 about a year ago, they are currently on ebay at about £10 at the time of writing. This printer offers a good black and white output and is able to take a range of different print media which is fed through a vericle feed at the back unlike most laser printers who use a tray for the paper on the base, with the extra paper outlet at the front for card. the toner for the printer is rather expensive ... ...a high number of prints with my experience being arround 6000 pages. If printing double sided work the printer does have a tendancy to jam when you are printing on the reverse side of your work occaisionaly. This printer would be ideal for a small home office environment or for use as ashared printer in a larger office. ...
