This printer is used at work and we have been using it for over a year, although it is quite large and fairly close to where I sit, it is surprisingly quiet. I can here it when it is printing but even then it is still nice and quiet, not too loud as to be overbearing but loud enough to know when it is printing. I had brought this printer particularly to print my beautiful photos. Based on my experience the photos quality is simply superb. I have stuck few A3 size (bigger scenery photos) photos on my room walls without any laminations, already few months ago and I'm cleaning dust with cloth once in a while but still the photo print quality is very good, not seen even small shading on the print.
