When will we see an end to the outdated dotmatrix
Review of Epson LX 300+ by gusgusrule

Advantages: Errmmm....leave me to think for this one
Disadvantages: Slow, terrible quality, hard to find consumables

...about £10 each for genuine epson ones or as little as £5 for compatible ones. ------------ QUALITY ------------ Well it sounds good so far, so whats wrong with it? One thing I really disliked about this printer was its quality. The text produced by the ribbon was very faint, and a grey colour as opposed to black. There was a lot of horizontal banding in most print outs with large white stripes through the text. It also had a tendency to shoot ...
...If it is just Epson thats not good with their Dot matrices then I would recommend them to give them up as a bad job and stick to what their good at...inkjet and lasers. Epson still remain my favourite brand of inkjet and laser printers so maybe they should stick with these and abandon the ever ageing method of dot matrix printing...and hopefully other companies will follow! ... HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180
Review of HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180 by my_user

Advantages: Printer quality will lost for many many years
Disadvantages: please check my Drawbacks list with this printer:

I had brought this printer particularly to print my beautiful photos. Based on my experience the photos quality is simply superb. I have stuck few A3 size (bigger scenery photos) photos on my room walls without any laminations, already few months ago and I'm cleaning dust with cloth once in a while but still the photo print quality is very good, not seen even small shading on the print. I never had seen this kind of print quality in my life time. ...
...Drawbacks with this printer: • It takes hell a lot of time to initialize the printer (minimum 15 to 20 minutes) by this time your 5 to 10% of ink cartridge will become empty. • It consumes too much of ink and ink bags are sky high price. • After a few months the whole printer with full of aerosol ( full of ink) • Printing time is very very….slow • Very bad paper skew happens once in a while (particularly when you print ... A good photo printer
Review of HP PhotoSmart 7260 by hnilesp

Advantages: Good quality, elegant, fast
Disadvantages: expesive maintenance

This is a very good products with both pros and cons. The design structure of the printer is very aesthetic and eyecatching. The presence of a five in one card reader is of great assistance. Not only in the process of printing straight out of the memory chip but also in connecting such memory chips to the computer. As the name suggests this printer is primarily designed for the use as a photo printer and it does its job absolutely well. The print ...
...as well. A lot of ink is wasted during the printing process and the cost of the cartridges are very and refilling is equally expensive. The capacity of the basic cartridges that come with the printer is very limited. Another issue common to most inkjet printers is that the ink solidifies when the printer is not used commonly. But I'd clearly recommend this product to anyone who wishes for a worthy colour printer. ... Read review

Lexmark is very reliable
Review of Lexmark X3580 by lulabell87

Advantages: wifi, screen
Disadvantages: 2 separate ink cartridges

...ago, i have always had lexmark printers, and i really liked the design of this one. It is an all in one, so a printer, scanner and copier, and the price ranges from around £30-50 which i think is reasonably good value for money. It takes two print cartridges, one black on colour, the numbers are 3 and 4 cartridges respectively, which are also fairly cheap. at between £13-18 depending on where you purchase them, I find the fact that it has separate ...
...just have one cartridge for both, as i personally use a lot more black than colour, so i only have to replace whichever one is needed as opposed to the whole cartridge, when there may still be colour ink left in it. It has an extendable tray which you can pull out while it is printing to catch the paper, and the buttons are easy to use. It was also very easy to install, with no major problems arising. It also has a good warning system of when the ... Read review
