Size is sometimes very important
Review of HP DesignJet 130 by Miskah

Advantages: Prints are massive and very high quality
Disadvantages: Big initial outlay - unlikely to be useful for the average home user.

...We decided to buy the HP DesignJet 130, A1 Inkjet Printer mainly due to its price but also because we were allowed to have a demonstration. It costs £820.12 excluding VAT (as we are a registered charity for fundraising purposes we don’t pay VAT) adding VAT to the price will raise it to £963.64. It does appear to be a large amount of money, but many other departments in the NHS and social services are in the same boat so we will be able to share ...
...cost which isn’t bad HP DesignJet 130, A1 Inkjet Printer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This printer is not as big as one would expect considering the size it prints out. Reliable crisp printing
Review of HP Color LaserJet 3600dn by howletts

Advantages: quick, crisp printing
Disadvantages: none so far :)

We have just purchased this printer for office use. It is shared on the network amongst around 12 users. It is a fast colour and mono printer ideal for medium use environments (defined as up to 3000 pages per month according to HP). It provides a quick start then 17 ppm colour or mono and is fairly economical. First page comes out in around 10-15 seconds which is fairly quick. The JetDirect printserver is built into the device for ease of use, if ...
...plug it in! :) It has a toner saver mode that can reduce your toner usage slighttly, but in my experience this is at the cost of the quality, and we tend not to use this feature. Compatable with both PC and MAC. Not a lot else to say - its a good solid colour laser that will hopefully grace our office for a few years to come. ... Read review

Be warned!
Review of HP Color LaserJet CP4005n by bugmenot2

Advantages: Speed, Price
Disadvantages: Physical Size

I spec'd this printer for one of my clients based on speed, resolution, duty cycle and price. In these respects it's a great printer. What I was not prepared for is the SIZE of this behemoth! Looking at the physical dimensions on paper does not give a mental image of the thing. In photos it looks like any normal laser printer. I was embarassed as hell when it arrived at my client's office. The shipping crate is the size of a washing machine and the ...
...people to lift it. Sitting on a table it looks absolutely ridiculous. Sitting on the floor it is almost the same height as a desk. The person I installed it for asked to have it removed from his office after seeing how huge it is. We also had to send it back for repairs immediately after installation because (we were later told) a piece of tape had not been removed from the ETB. If you don't know what an ETB is (it's the Electrostatic Transfer Belt) ... Read review
