I bought a Canon Pixma ix4000 about three months ago. I'm not a technical expert, either in computers or in printers, so this review may be bit lacking in some technical details. I already have a Sharp AL1457D (a multi purpose laser printer, scanner and copier) which I use for most day to day printing. The sharp only prints out onto A4 and is Black and white. It prints up to A3, fairly quickly (if its' B&W). it prints excellent quality photographs (both colour and black and white), to look at them you would think that they were produced by a Professional photo lab, they are that good. ...for the pair for original canon but you can get generic replacements for a fraction of the cost, I personally use the original ones, but again I don't print hundreds of pages, just the average family use so it doesn't hurt me when I have to replace them. The print quality is really good from a compact ink jet printer, good enough to print decent charts, documents and even photos. ...printer in question was the HP OfficeJet K7100. It retails around £190 and was of far higher quality than the other school printers. My experience I was printing one black and white sheet of guitar tablature. There was not a lot of printing to be done and i expected it to be out by the time reached the printer. This, however, was not the case. It didn't take too long but for what i was printing i thought it was a while. (It took around 40 seconds). ...
...plain sheet, but from past experience i know it can print in very good quality. A full colour sheet will come out in great detail and it can print photographs in great detail too. The only thing i will say was that it was a little smudged. Whether that was me or not i am not sure. It cost me 5p for a black and white sheet, although this was through the school.
