Review of Canon Laser Shot LBP 5000 by hazeydazey

Advantages: Colour, compact compared to other laser and fits on desktop, laser.
Disadvantages: Still quite large compared to an ink jet.

I bought one of these babies because I hate inkjets and love laser. This was the only one I could really afford which was small enough to fit on my desktop and had colour. Laser printers are better than inkjets because they give a crisp and professional look to word documents and spreadsheets. Even with a fine quality inject it still looks home-made unless it is on hideously expensive paper. Therefore the LBP 5000 it makes my assignments look great. ...
...pictures which sends shivers down my spine with excitement. It is generally understood that lasers are far better value for money on a long-term basis. When you replace cartridges in an injet they can cost £15 plus for each colour. A replacement toner cartridge for the LBP5000 laser printer is around £50, however they need replacing far less frequently. I have had mine for six months and have gone through at least two reams of paper and still have ... Read review

Simply brilliant!
Review of Epson Stylus Photo 1400 by il_cacciatore

Advantages: A3+ capability, CD/DVD printing function, Resolution, Pict Bridge Port, Colour depth.
Disadvantages: Bulky (but to be expected?), no ISB cable or firewire port, Plastic build.

...☼ My long lived Epson C42 plus gave up the ghost a while back so I decided to invest in a new printer. I’ve stayed loyal to Epson as there were no alternatives similar in specification and ability out on the market just now in the same price bracket as the Stylus 1400. I chose this printer as I want a printer that can print high quality photographs from digital and scanned photographs, something capable of A3 print size to print technical ...
...at £9.45 each for oem Epson cartridges. ☼ Packaging ☼ The box it comes packed in is a bit bulky as it is an A3 printer though it features carry handles to make life easier. It is well styled and describes key points of the printer in different languages. My box contained: ☺Software CD ☺Six ink cartridges (described later) ☺Power cable ☺Warranty Card ☺Quick Start Guide ☺CD print tray contraption ... Read review

A very pretty picture
Review of Epson Stylus Photo R800 by Miskah

Advantages: superb picture quality, borderless prints, speed, quietness, versatility, ease of use yet plenty of gadgets
Disadvantages: doesnt have a built-in card reader

I’d like to share this Epson printer with you. It is well worth the investment if you want high quality prints with superb colour. • The printer is able to provide ‘borderless’ prints although in reality the A4 and over prints actually have a 2 mm border approx which isn’t bad at all. It gives true borderless prints on papers 4" x 6", 5" x 7", and 8" x 10" in size • The maximum paper size it takes is 215.9 mm x 355.6 mm ( classed as legal : A4 is ...
...a selection of software including Epson Print CD Software and PRINT Image Matching II Plug-In for Adobe Photoshop 6.0, 7.0 and Elements (all titles are PC and Macintosh compatible, P.I.M. - and Exif Print-enabled). It manages colour with various ways: EPSON Standard, EPSON Vivid Colour and ICM or ColorSync colour management using ICC profiles • The R800 is well built and neither looks or feels cheap , it is straightforward to set up and use Manufacturer’s ... Poor form from Epson
Review of Epson Stylus C62 by MVP017

Advantages: Prints documents
Disadvantages: Speed and quality

What is it that youy want out of an inkjet printer? - something that prints good quality prints fairly quickly and doing this quietly. After buying this model for around £60, this is what i expected, even if it was not absolutely perfect, being relatively cheap. It is a basic inkjet printer that connects to your computer via. a USB connection. There are 2 ink cartridge slots, one for colour and one for black and white. This is very simple but it ...
...600 pages and the colour should last for 300 pages. This is promising but its simplicity in design and features are real indicators of what i believe is a poor machine. The first problem which i have found is that the print speed is extremely slow. Fow black & white the speed is meant to be 14 ppm (pages per minute) and for colour it is supposed to be 13.9 ppm. This is probarbly true if it printed continually but it always seems to stall mid way ... Read review

The Ideal Hospital Patient's Printer
Review of Canon BJC 50 by AlisonJClarke

Advantages: Small and compact, able to print colour and monochrome, rechargeable.
Disadvantages: It can be difficult to get paper to feed straight, a bit noisy when printing colour.

I bought the BJC-50 as I wanted a small printer that would go into my case with my laptop computer for when I went into hospital. This printer was an ideal size for that purpose. I take it into hospital whenever I go in now so that I can keep up to date with any correspondence. It is very convenient as it can be charged and then used off battery leaving you with one less cable to cope with. One problem I did have was with my paper not feeding through ...
...which is the auto sheet feeder designed for this printer. Now my paper all comes through straight, no more wonky letters from me. One other disadvantage of this printer is that it is quite noisy when printing colour. I like the cartridge containers as they are simple to use and also quite clean, no inky fingers unlike some other print cartridges. All in all it is a good buy if you are looking for a compact reliable printer. ... Read review
