not fab, but good for the money
Review of HP LaserJet P1005 by princesslaura

Advantages: not too big, quiet
Disadvantages: not a fantastic printer

...husband has been using the HP Laserjet P1005 at work for the past few months. His [much more expensive] laserjet broke down and he was quite put out to receive this in return! Amazon charges £69.75 for this product [with free delivery within the UK]. At this price you know that the printer is not going to be top of the range, however, it's not total rubbish by any means. It prints at speeds of up to 14ppm [which is no good for high volume printing ...
...1200-dpi. It has a 133 MHz processor and 2 MB of memory. One advantage of this printer is that it is fairly small in comparison to many others on the market [which saves on valuable deskspace - more room for coffee cups!]. It is also quite quiet [my husband's last printer sounded like an aircraft taking off whenever it was turned on]. It comes with a 150 sheet input tray, which I would consider adequate for most home use. Hi-speed USB 2.0 connectivity ... Read review

Good older printer
Review of HP LaserJet 4000n by nig6

Advantages: Quick, reliable and good quality
Disadvantages: Old now and only black and white

I have one of these as my printer and work, and have used the same model for many years. The printer does look dated now to be honest, as it is an older design, but it looks functional and has an LCD screen on the top of the printer that shows the menus and error messages. Below the screen is a green button to turn the printer on and offline and a couple of other buttons to navigate the simple to use menu. This is an A4 printer so will only print ...
...and the manual feed. There is an indicator on the outside of the paper tray to show how much paper is in the printer without removing the tray - very useful! As this is only a mono laser printer, naturally it only prints in black and white, it is very quick to print and the quality is very good. This printer is very easy to use, changing the cartridge is really easy too! So in summary, a good printer not manufactured anymore - but parts and consumables ... Read review

Great little printer for a nice price!
Review of HP LaserJet 1018 by shadypeanut

Advantages: Great value
Disadvantages: Could have more features

Here you are looking at a budget colour laser printer that you will get for under ₤100. The toner cartridges cost around the ₤40 mark, which is slightly on the expensive side, but will print approximately 2000 pages. The actual specifications of the printer says that it prints at 12 pages per minute, and after using the printer I was impressed with the speed of the printing, even with full page printouts, such as graphics/photos. The ...
...a faster way of sending information. The quality of fonts when printing is excellent, even when printing the smallest of text, the printer still produces excellent results. The quality of printed graphics/photos were also very impressive, and by using photo paper I could see this printer producing some very good printouts. The look of the printer itself is plain, there are no menus or buttons, but this enables the printer to be small and thin, which ... Read review

HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180
Review of HP PhotoSmart Pro B9180 by my_user

Advantages: Printer quality will lost for many many years
Disadvantages: please check my Drawbacks list with this printer:

I had brought this printer particularly to print my beautiful photos. Based on my experience the photos quality is simply superb. I have stuck few A3 size (bigger scenery photos) photos on my room walls without any laminations, already few months ago and I'm cleaning dust with cloth once in a while but still the photo print quality is very good, not seen even small shading on the print. I never had seen this kind of print quality in my life time. ...
...Drawbacks with this printer: • It takes hell a lot of time to initialize the printer (minimum 15 to 20 minutes) by this time your 5 to 10% of ink cartridge will become empty. • It consumes too much of ink and ink bags are sky high price. • After a few months the whole printer with full of aerosol ( full of ink) • Printing time is very very….slow • Very bad paper skew happens once in a while (particularly when you print ...
