Size is sometimes very important
Review of HP DesignJet 130 by Miskah

Advantages: Prints are massive and very high quality
Disadvantages: Big initial outlay - unlikely to be useful for the average home user.

...We decided to buy the HP DesignJet 130, A1 Inkjet Printer mainly due to its price but also because we were allowed to have a demonstration. It costs £820.12 excluding VAT (as we are a registered charity for fundraising purposes we don’t pay VAT) adding VAT to the price will raise it to £963.64. It does appear to be a large amount of money, but many other departments in the NHS and social services are in the same boat so we will be able to share ...
...cost which isn’t bad HP DesignJet 130, A1 Inkjet Printer ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This printer is not as big as one would expect considering the size it prints out. Its dimensions are 1050 x 415 x 220 mm (W x D x H) and it weighs 22 kg. It has 6 individual ink cartridges; black, cyan, magenta, yellow, light cyan and light magenta. You can't go wrong if you choose this machine
Review of HP DesignJet 1055cm by Mr_Gamgee

Advantages: Reliability
Disadvantages: none

...make them work. Using the HP driver site is a doddle and the plotter is up and running in no time at all. Using the correct driver, printing is instant and you can have a mono A1 plan printed in under a minute. Printing graphics and photos is slightly different. I'd recommend using an application such as PosterJet RIP which will spool directly to the plotter and make printing much easier than using the normal print dialogue - where sometimes the ...
...deadlines with an unreliable plotter. HP really have come up trumps here with the 1055cm and while there are some smaller HP printers that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole (business inkjet 2600 especially), HP are renowned for their sucess in producing quality plotters. The 1055cm is no exception. You know, I've have a really good think and I really can't come up with a bad point about this plotter. It makes a bit of noise if it’s in the same ... Read review

Lexmark is very reliable
Review of Lexmark X3580 by lulabell87

Advantages: wifi, screen
Disadvantages: 2 separate ink cartridges

...ago, i have always had lexmark printers, and i really liked the design of this one. It is an all in one, so a printer, scanner and copier, and the price ranges from around £30-50 which i think is reasonably good value for money. It takes two print cartridges, one black on colour, the numbers are 3 and 4 cartridges respectively, which are also fairly cheap. at between £13-18 depending on where you purchase them, I find the fact that it has separate ...
...just have one cartridge for both, as i personally use a lot more black than colour, so i only have to replace whichever one is needed as opposed to the whole cartridge, when there may still be colour ink left in it. It has an extendable tray which you can pull out while it is printing to catch the paper, and the buttons are easy to use. It was also very easy to install, with no major problems arising. It also has a good warning system of when the ... Read review
