HP Just do the job
Review of HP Deskjet D1460 by com235

Advantages: Small, Quick, Software Great
Disadvantages: Loud

I love this printer. This printer is so small but can print so fast. The thing in my mind that makes this printer stick out to me in my mind is the fact that the driver software on the computer is brill it allows you to choose what type of printing you will be doing for example if you are just going to be printing a page of a website you would just selete general everyday printing. If you were printing a photo you would click on photo printing so ... Read review

Great for the money and size.
Review of Canon Laser Shot LBP 5000 by hazeydazey

Advantages: Colour, compact compared to other laser and fits on desktop, laser.
Disadvantages: Still quite large compared to an ink jet.

I bought one of these babies because I hate inkjets and love laser. This was the only one I could really afford which was small enough to fit on my desktop and had colour. Laser printers are better than inkjets because they give a crisp and professional look to word documents and spreadsheets. Even with a fine quality inject it still looks home-made unless it is on hideously expensive paper. Therefore the LBP 5000 it makes my assignments look great. ...
...pictures which sends shivers down my spine with excitement. It is generally understood that lasers are far better value for money on a long-term basis. When you replace cartridges in an injet they can cost £15 plus for each colour. A replacement toner cartridge for the LBP5000 laser printer is around £50, however they need replacing far less frequently. I have had mine for six months and have gone through at least two reams of paper and still have ... Read review

I say yes
Review of Samsung CLP 300 by Heeverburg

Advantages: Speed, cost and quality
Disadvantages: Nothing I can think off at the moment

This is a great printer. Beware that there are two types: The CLP 300 and the CLP 300N. The 300N is for networking. This means you can print to this printer from more than one PC if you have more than one PC in your house or office. For home use it is a waste of money because I do not print that often to justify networking. The quality is great and really amazing and the speed is mind blowing. If you need REAL photo quality printing, this is not ...
...- Especially if you are a photo printing connoisseur. There is only one button - The on-off button, nothing else! Easy to use for the "not so computer literate", but could be disappointing for those who likes to tinker a bit. I also own an inkjet photo printer which is great when it comes to quality. The advantage of the laser printer above the inkjet type is that it can print close to a thousand colour documents before you have to do anything to ... Read review

HP Laserjet 1600
Review of HP Color LaserJet 1600 by jr991

Advantages: Prints Fast, Good Quality
Disadvantages: Cannot print on 110lb cardstock

I have had my HP Laserjet 1600 for a couple of months now and at first I wasn't to pleased with the colour quality, but after it got broken in it started getting better. I use it quite a bit, sometimes printing 500 sheets a day, so it seems to stand up to the work load that I put it through. One drawback to the HP Laserjet 1600 is if you're printing card stock it cannot print on 110 lb paper. I should have checked into this before purchasing it but ... Read review

Samsung ML4500 Brilliant!
Review of Samsung ML 4500 by Seton

Advantages: Cost, reliability, ease of use, top quality print, compact size
Disadvantages: It's a hard working, reliable Volvo, not a Jaguar

...I would always stick with Samsung and I might look for one that prints more copies per minute and possibly in colour simply because of the job that I do, but if there was nothing suitable I would be delighted to buy the exact same model and would happily pay three times what I did. The fact that you can now get this model for nearly half the price is amazing. If you want clever extras and fancy tricks it might not be the model for you, but if you ...
...a year at @ £40), extremely hard working and problem free, I'm very happy to recommend this printer. The quality of print is excellent (I create professional books, thesis, wedding invitations and high quality business documents.) with great sharpness on a range of different papers. I've never had any problem with it and you can literally take it out of the box and go. ... Read review
