HP PhotoSmart D7260
Advantages: Built in display screen Disadvantages: Poorish print quality for an inkjet
...which work with ease. Easy enough to connect and install onto your PC. I really expected more because HP make some very good printers and I have had very good experiences with other photosmarts in the past. In conclusion, there are better printers available in this price range. Overall 6/10. ...

Great wide-format printer for the price.
Advantages: Great finished prints at home Disadvantages: Noisy and ink is pricey.
...I debated between a Canon, HP and Epson wide format printer. I have had HP's and always got excellent results from it. I needed to upgrade to the wide format for photo scrapbooking. I took the chance on the HP because it was a mid-priced unit. I really wanted the networked version, but in all reality, if I'm printing 12x12 and larger prints, I'm going to be sitting at my desk anyhow. Maybe if you have multiple computers that want to use it, the network ... ...Easy set up out of the box. Gave it a 4 due to the noise and how expensive the ink tanks are to buy. I spend almost $300 on HP ink. 8 separate colors, so you don't replace three colors when one runs out. I like that. It's fast too. ...

Reliable, Reasonably priced, Wireless and a Great print quality!!
Advantages: One of the few cheap photoprinters which can connect wirelessly!!!!! Disadvantages: Had trouble setting it up wirelessly to many computers but once up and running its a great printer
...market, in my opinion the HP PhotoSmart D7460 is very reasonably priced. It has a great print quality that never ceases to impress, moreover the ink can be bought at a reasonable price - eg. from ebay - (so long as you don't buy HP legit ink - which realy doesnt make much difference). Additionaly it is quite a fast printer so can be used at ease for everyday printing of work ect.!!!! It features an inbuilt memory card reader so you can print directly ... ...change your settings. Conveniently the HP PhotoSmart D7460 has seperate trays for regular A4 paper and your smaller photo paper so you dont have to keep on switching them round all the time!!!!!! And finally, what made me buy this printer originally it can conect wirelessly to multiple printers. Unfortunately this was the only area i ever experienced any difficulties however after a bit of persistance i got it up running fine and am elated i made ...

Good colour laser for those on a budget
Advantages: Reasonable cost cartridges available. Good quality Disadvantages: Large. No network adapter.
...it. I wouldn't normally recommend HP since other brands are often cheaper. Often, they are identical models too, Canon have made a lot of printers for HP in the past.
This time was different, the HP was the cheapest colour laser I could find where the cartridge prices were also reasonable.
Being a laser printer, these do take drums as well as toner cartridges. All laser printers do, but the cartridges for this one come together with the drum. This ... ...£70 each although the way HP is putting prices up at the moment, expect them to be closer to £100 by the end of 2009. Cheaper, compatible cartridges are available and these are what I am using. These are less than £40 if you shop around. They sound expensive, but they last a long time - much longer than any inkjet cartridges.
I did compare this to other manufacturers when buying and found this to be the most cost effective. I was looking for a budget ...

Canon Pixma iP4300 Printer
Advantages: Two paper trays. Ability to print onto CD discs. Quiet Disadvantages: Cost of original cartridges.
When I first bought the canon printer and got it out of the box, I felt that I had a printer that was sturdy and solid. The reason why a lot of people complain when they are in the shop is that there is never a cable with the printer. Again this is no exception. So either you buy a new one or hopefully, like me you had one from your last printer. The black and silver trim make it look quite smart, making you want to leave it out in the open. Really ... ...At first the cartridges from Canon were ok but I find at £8 each it does get expensive. I started to use compatible ones. Now then, if you go this route, people say that they break the printer. I have found this not to be true in my situation. The problem is when you have to change the chip over from one cartridge to another. A little tool is provided to remove the chip and some double sided tape for sticking it back on the new one. I have had a ...
