Since I started writing I have made mistakes, so for me the word processor was a major bonus in my life. However before such times I have had to correct far too many errors. Even now I still find myself handwriting and still making errors.
What are its uses?
A simple idea, when you make a mistake with a permanent pen or a typewriter and want to hide the error, then this is put over the mistake and as if by magic the error is gone allowing you to write or type directly over the top of the tape.
What is it like?
It is a white tape that comes on a roll that is kept in a plastic case/dispenser. It comes in two widths 4.2 mm (for text) and 8.4 mm (for handwriting). You get in excess of 8 metres of tape on a roll.
What did we do before it?
When using an ink pen correcting errors has always been a problem, I remember seeing people using a pen knife to scratch the paper and try to lift the ink off. It worked but would leave the paper very thin and sometimes it resulted in a hole in the paper. Then along came the correction fluid, basically a bottle of white gloop and an applicator brush, the idea is you paint the gloop onto the error, wait for the said gloop to dry and then write or type over the top of it.
Why use it instead of Correction fluid?
The idea of it is it gets rid of the problems that occurred with correction fluid. For instance, lumps or lines when the correction fluid is applied to paper, gunked up applicator brush, the fluid becoming too thick and needing to use thinners as well as it drying up in the bottle. Not forgetting the length of time spent waiting for the correction fluid to dry on the paper so it can be over written.
How good is it?
When I have managed to use this properly (and on the right type of paper) it does exactly what it should, that being it covers mistakes and leaves a smooth surface that can be written over straight away. But for me it is the getting it to work properly that is the problem, all too often I have given up and resorted to the old faithful correction fluid.
Any downsides
Although it can be used on different types of paper including card I have found if the paper is either too shiny or too porous then the tape can find it hard to get a good purchase on the paper (or at least it does for me). This can result in the tape not adhering to the paper correctly and consequently getting rubbed off very easily. If you try to use this too quickly then it can get stretched and or twisted resulting in a waste of the tape, again a lot of this is probably down to me
Overall
This is one product that I will avoid like the plague. Yes it does work, but is far too fiddly for me. I prefer to try not to make mistakes and if it is a mistake that requires a correction I will use a fluid and wait for that to dry before writing over it. That said I do know of people who find this no problem at all to use and prefer it to using correction fluid. All in all it is a good product, unfortunately it is not for the ham fisted or impatient (like myself), so it is not a product that I can honestly recommend, but I would expect a lot of other people to highly endorse this.
For those interested in the price expect to pay between £1.75 and £2.50. It is widely available from most good stationary shops both on and off line.
Some of the criteria needed for this review to be published is not really relevant for example users manual, cleaning and maintenance.
Advantages: Easy to use, dries fast, dry formula, hardly any scent, safe for all to use. Disadvantages: Sometimes tape can get twisted; can't accept all types of pen to write on.

I bought my Pritt Correct-It from Stationery Box at £1-99 which mirrors Stationery Box's Correction wet liquid fluid on price. Woolworths also have this from time to time as well as independent stockists but they will tend to mark up the price accordingly.
