Ive updated this opinion, but have left my original in place at the bottom. In feb this year I sold my Legend and bought a rather sporty Fiesta 1600 sport. Due to some little git, I only had the pleasure of driving it for 10 miles because they stole it after only 8 hours of ownership.
I should be grateful that I recovered my money from my insurance, but my opinion of this company has fallen to rock bottom. The process of sorting my claim out was nothing short of a shamble and my opinion of the staff that I dealt with cannot be written down with Ciao deleting it.
The car itself was written of after a chase involving the Police. I assumed because it had been recovered within 35 minutes of it being stolen and had the police to back me up that I would get a speedy pay out.I reported the theft to them on the Monday morning and pointed out that I had only owned it for 8 hours before the crash. It took 4 weeks before I heard anything in writing after millions of phone calls to monkeys who didnot have a clue what was going on.
A letter that was sent after the 4 weeks was on photocopied compliment slips!!! and that said I had to transfer the ownership on the logbook across in my name.If someone had checked straight the documents I had sent three and a half weeks earlier this would Have saved some time as I would have the logbook back in my name. I was lucky and got the logbook back after only a week. But this still didnot stop them from amking me wait another 3 and a half weeks for my cheque.
Phone calls to the claims department took on average 30 minutes to be answer.I now no longer recommend this company at all, so much so that when my insurance was due, my renewal was £80 cheaper that else where. But I no longer trust them and insuraned else where when I know I will get good service if I have to claim again.
In march this year I bought a modified ford escort.The car had been professionally done up to look like an Rs Cosworth.I rang my insurance company and several others to find the cheapest insurance was £1100 fully comp with a hugh excess.some even tried to insure it as a Proper cossie at £3500......I then tried Privilage and then quoted £400 fully comp as long as the vehicles horsepower had not increased and that I had an thatcham 2 immobiliser fitted within a month.
I always believe anything thats not a standard straight forward car to insure.Try the experts...not the telesales offices who operate as get as many insurance quotes done as possible...sod anything thats not straight forward.
I now insure a group 16 Honda Legend 2.7 2 door coupe with me a 26 and my girlfriend 24 years years on the insurance with the same company for under 400 quid.Its very reasonable considering the cars insurance rating.
I good all round service.....and ive never had a complaint against them.
