Advantages Advantages The silky gameplay and the smoothness of the game itself explains why many people see this series of games as the best ever created.

Disadvantages Disadvantages however, the game is not perfect quite yet. The players are not as detailed as they are on FIFA, and the lack of all the correct licenses for player names and team names (though improved on the last game) can get annoying.

Background Long ago when bumbags were seen as cool and boyzone were topping the charts, there was only one real contender in the market of football games, and that was FIFA. However, things have changed (you might just say things have evolved), and pro evolution soccer from konami has not only stepped up to the plate to compete, but is also seeming to be the winning product. How have they done it? what makes this game so much better than FIFA? and, the question you all want the answer to, is it worth the £35 i've been saving up since I got that one-off job at a strip bar for a night? All these ... more

Advantages Advantages If you have a broken leg or you are old you can still play football !

Disadvantages Disadvantages may destroy relationships, deteriorating social life

History A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away (Japan) some crazy Japanese people sat around a table and decided they should make a football game. These crazy people are responsible for changing football gaming as we know it on a computerised scale at least. Starting off as Hyper Soccer on the NES and then carrying on as ISS (international superstar soccer) on the Super Nes, Megadrive, and finally splitting into ISS and Pro Evolution in the next generation of consoles until we work our way finally up to the latest and greatest offering which sits in front of us today. Along the way the ... more

Advantages Advantages Smooth and realistic gameplay, better than previous realeases, x-box live add on.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Commentary is awful, lacks the presentation of FIFA 2005

Being a part time games tester I spend a bit of time playing games that are due for release a few months down the line. One of the games I have always liked is the Pro Evolution Soccer series, and I was particulary looking forward to the X-Box version. I am delighted to say it is worth the wait, it is very smooth and detailed, graphics are a touch more classy than the PS2 release and it has the X-Box live option. Unfortunatley, I was unable to test the live option but I will go into detail as to why this must be the football game to own this Christmas. Konami has added more club teams in PES4 ... more

Advantages Advantages Slick and smooth gameplay

Disadvantages Disadvantages Lack of official licenses and real player names, graphics not as good as FIFA

Pro Evolution soccer 4 is now commonly found in second hand sections of Game and Cash Converters, at a more than reasonable £10. For this reason, I thought I would write a review to raise awareness! With the release of the 5th Pro Evolution Soccer, the inevitable has happened and its predecessor has dropped radically in price. Most places will no longer sell you it new, especially online. However, this doesn't detract from what a good game it actually is. THE GENERAL IDEA: Its a football game, so you pick a side, put 11 players on the pitch and kick a ball into the other teams net as many ... more

Advantages Advantages Superior gameplay, great fun

Disadvantages Disadvantages you might get hooked

Once upon a time not so long ago 2 dots or lines on a screen and a little ball going across the screen. Hit the dot with the line and try to stop your opponent from doing the same. Sounds simple doesn't it. But that was gaming not so long ago. I thought that once I turned fifty gaming would be of no more interest to me. How wrong I was. After suffering from depression a few years back my son got me into playing football on his playstation to try and help me. Since then we've played many games of football on many different formats. FIFA 2000 etc. We are currently playing as MARDON ATHLETICO ... more
