Giving Sony play station 2 a great challenge since it was released, PSP has not been taking any chances on that. Quite well, the pro evolution in the Sony play station 2 soccer has given every soccer fan the passion for soccer but the recent Sony play station portable made it some how diversified. Before the release of this, I knew that there will be nothing new to compare to the Sony play station 2 soccer but the name portable as usual will make it look new and evolve. Well I have to put it like this; there is some thing new to compare with the pro evo 5 that does not have any master league or cup competition and from the review that I read from one of our fellow members, the pro evo 5 featured a distinct lack of challenge and really agreed with that statement. I think that konami some how is approaching its diminishing return on the pro evo soccer in general and I would like konami to realize this, this is just a mere game and no need of trying to make a more realistic game play. This annoys and also impress in different aspects so why don’t we get on with it?

Previously, not known for master league features but this time, konami gave a nice introduction and made it really some thing new by the development of master league and i think that this should be welcomed and along with other cup modes. On the other hand, I think that konami just excluded the master league mode in the previous versions with some specific reasons and that was for a nice strategic purpose. That was really to give the pro evo 6 a new shape and on the other hand make it some thing new. In my own case, I got some what disappointed that the PES 6 lacks the ability to develop players individual skills rather the issue of buying and selling of players and gaining promotion is made feasible. In the case of the newly introduced feature that is the master league, it requires a lot of time for you to build up those fantastic old players like cruyff, Pele and other football legends well to me that makes the soccer version a compulsive one to play and on the other hand keeps you moving along with the PES6 (PSP) version.

Although the maser league has a lot of gaming components, it did not affects the gaming it self like the sound presentations and the game graphics also. With the players composed and detailed programs, the PES soccer can boast of accurate passes, heading accurately, volleys, shots on targets and some reactions of the players makes the game look as if you are watching a real life match arena. Just like I said in the disadvantages, some of my pals found this game some how uninteresting and that was the issue I made clear and most are PES PS2 that they found more interesting in the issue of some realistic court scenes of the players and the officials like the issuing of cards realistically, booking of players, players contesting when issued a card unnecessary and on the other hand disqualifications of goals by the referee gave the PES6 (PS2) an edge over the PSP PES6 version.
I have found one major problem, with the PES6 version, the problem is this the PES6 has a more slower movement than the previous PES versions and on the other hand, the ball moves like some thing that is played in a heavy sand and it some how similar to the previous Nintendo 64 international superstar soccer (ISS). While in the rush to score, the delay is so much that it gives the defenders the room to recover from attack and why is this so? Well this is up to Konami to tackle the problem and I hope that the future versions will not come up with the same problem. On the other hand, Konami made a nice and intelligent programming of the players that really enables them to play intelligently, like the issue of positioning them selves, when a long or an incorrect pass is being made, the players calculative abilities enables him to know how possible it will be to get the ball that is really brilliant. In the case of the PES6 soccer, especially to new players, it requires a lot of patients for you to adapt and to master the game play.

In the PES6 issue, some players have advantage over others like in the case of (Roberto Carlos), (THIERY HENRY); have an edge over some players in terms of speed difference but still considered slow. The PES6 leads to one side dimensional strategy getting the ball quite broad and crossing the ball to strikers for scoring.

On the other hand, the PES6 goalkeepers have an edge over the players, their ability of response and awareness on catching and punching the ball is splendid and it has been like that in the previous PES versions. You hardly score them and some times make almost impossible saves. Some keepers like Buffon, casiyas and some world-class keepers make some fantastic saves. I think that in the case of scoring goals with shots, Konami has made it a very difficult task and the PES 6 goalies are good at that. In the case making scoring easy, placing and directing the ball I think is the solution to goals and 75% of the time it works.

In the case of headings, I think that Konami made it a difficult task too even in the previous PES versions, in the case of crossing and corners, scoring through these means are also a matter of chance. Most of the headers go off the bar well you keep on trying until one enters.

The PES6 has some advantages over the PES5 and the major feature is the loading time in the PES5, the loading time seem annoying and waste time but in the recent version, it has improved very well.

In terms of adapting to the game requires a lot of patients just like I mentioned above and one thing with me is this, the first time I played it, I got pissed do to the slow movements of players. On the other hand, there are a lot of hidden skills that requires a lot of patients before you will be able to see it and you don’t see it on a day every thing depends on your addictiveness. A lot of criticism have been going on the air about the PES soccer and that is the slow game play but you don’t worry about that, time shall come when it will be your favourite footy game so stick to that. In the case of enjoying the PES6 soccer, set the CPU to CPU mode and set to difficulty level that is where you get the real footy and a more realistic game play by the computer so there are a lot of things to enjoy about in the PES6 so stick to it.

My experience with PES6 is this, it is still the reigning soccer in the video game and on the other hand it is a must buy game so go get yours.

As usual has an edge over fifa no matter what happens
