Advantages: Excellent Value for Money - Quality PreAmps Disadvantages: Headphone Volume Controlled By Control Room Out Knob
...packed but I'm willing to forgive this small annoyance. There is no 'per-channel' metering, which is a shame, but can't be expected for the price. A peak level LED is supplied for each channel so you can see if you're distorting the signal. Crucially, however, there's an 8-step LED meter on the Main Output Bus. Ranging from -20dB to +5dB and then a pair of amber +10dB lights and a pair of red CLIP LEDs. Oh and also, there's an FX Footswitch 1/4 Jack input so you can cycle the effects if your hands are otherwise engaged ;)

This all sounds great, but I'm a beginner!

It's a great desk to learn on. It's small enough not to overwhelm, while retaining many features typically found on mixers 3 times the size and 10 times the price. You can get used to mixing...

Advantages: Nice weight, Great Finish, Sound Amazing! Disadvantages: Slightly more pricier than other cymbals at the same level
..., ZBT's, Paiste 101 or Sabian B8s. Most of the cymbals have slightly light overtones, but nothing that mashing away with the band cant blend in with! All of the cymbals can be used in a variety of settings: Ive used them in Fusion, Metal and Rock Jazz and even an Orchestral Setting, and have had positive comments on each term! Ive recently finished a recording session with a cymbal set up entirely of Alpha Pro, except 2 Ufip Tiger cymbals, who i was testing out for a friend, and the technicians were convinced they were pro cymbals, until they read the imprint on the top. All the cymbals are well weighted. Slightly more pricier than other Midrange/Semi Pro cymbals, but definately worth it.
Recomended to: Any and All Drummers looking for something fresh and professional in their cymbals at an affordable price!...

...kit, even better under lights on stage. And again, those logos let everyone know its only top-brand cymbals for you!
The sound of cymbals is a personal matter, which is why I'd always recommend going to a 'real' music shop rather that buying online etc. In my opinion though, these cymbals sound excellent - as Sabain says they have a lovely 'penetrating' sound - ideal for live performance where un-mic'ed drummers often struggle to be heard above the rest of the music. This is ideal for the kind of music I play, mainly heavy rock. The hi-hats have a nice 'click' with a very 'live' sound when open, while the crash is high and penetrating, the ride being incredibly loud and with a large bell for effect.
All in all excellent cymbals, a great upgrade from the basic ones that often come pre-packed with kits. While they may not seem very cheap...
