Spot off Oxy Advantages: Not expensive compared to other products, widely available Disadvantages: For me, totally uneffective ...was a big range of Oxy products on sale. I started applying it in evenings after washing my face. It didn't overly sting which was nice. I did this over a week or so and saw nothing notable. Spots had not subsided, redness still there, still painful. So, I applied it in the morning as well. Started getting really dry face (think I went a bit far in the hope that too much was better than not enough!!!) and, again, no real visible benefits. After 5 ... GETS RID OF SPOTS AND ACNE Advantages: Gets rid of spots and acne, Disadvantages: Expensive ...the counter spot creams is Oxy benzoyl Peroxide lotion. It comes in two strengths 5 which is known as regular strength and 10 which is obviously known as Strong strength. I first used Oxy 5 a few weeks ago and although it is known as regular strength it’s a lot stronger than other spot creams that aren’t behind the counter. To use, you cleanse your face with a “deep cleansing” cream wash, Lol and then you rub it into each spot. The first time you ... ...and night. For me Oxy 5 worked brilliantly and its cleared up my face and got rid of most of my spots. However as with all of these spot creams they work for some people and don’t work for others. Which is why you should mix and match between all of the different spots creams, even those behind the counter. And once you find one that works for you, keep using that one and stick to it. Let you'r skin breath! Advantages: mmmmm....could maybe work Disadvantages: doesn't work ...teens do!! A friend recommended Oxy Blackout nose strips to me and so I gave them ago, to be honest i wish I'd never spent that amount of money of something in my opinion doesn't even work. The strips come in a blue box with a flip open lid, there are 32 strips in a box which last a long time depending obviously on how often you use them!! In the box also to help apply the strips there is a funny looking pot of alcohol type stuff with some other ... ...only with delicate skin types. I find after using the Oxy Blackout strips my nose feels hard and dry too. Cap cap! But otherwise a small bottle of exfoliating goodness! Advantages:* Very exfoliating. Disadvantages: The cap needs some serious work. Volume of scrubby wash should be slightly increased. Oxy Maximum Face Scrub for Men Saw this at Tesco for a cut price so I decided to try it. This product claims: * To be for men - But I see no reason why women couldn't use it * Remove dead skin - Yer Ok * Kill spot-causing bacteria - I have had fewer spots recently but I have also been using other new face products. * Reduces excess oil - Does an OK job at this. My forehead etc has been a little less oily. * Reduce redness - I wasn't very ... ... Packaging wise Oxy has pretty much nailed it. The combination of black and silver looks cool, sleek and modern. The tube is like any other non-colour wise. Nothing special here. The cap, now this annoys me a bit. It opens weirdly. Sometimes it pops open without a fight, other times it takes a while - I guess you have to get used to it. Out damn spot! (at last) Advantages: The only thing that works... Disadvantages: Don't follow their instructions ...work. I had tried OXY Clearout cream before. I found, like the previous reviewer, that when applied as directed, it dried my skin and seemed to have little benefit. At last (in tears and desperation) I tried applying it only when a spot erupted - and dabbing it liberally and directly onto the spot. The cream dries and crusts on the skin (so it's best to apply it at night) but this is the whole point. It absorbs the fluid (all right, pus) from within ... ...the contents of a spot. OXY cream is also antibacterial, which helps to fight the infection at the root of the spot. I went into Boots the other day - and found that the OXY range had been restyled. And - horrors - I couldn't find the cream anywhere. I seriously hope that it has not been discontinued, as I may have to travel the globe in search of a suitable replacement amonst all the useless gels. It doesn't stop me getting spots.
