Akasa EVO98 CPU Cooler
Review of Akasa EVO 98 by Sneaky_Bugger

Advantages: Awesomely efficient cooling of your CPU
Disadvantages: means removing your MOBO to install it (But it is well worth it!)

I installed the cooler and noticed an immediate drop in temp when the comp is under load. I had a bigger than standard cooler already but I have got into tweaking and overclocking my computer to enhance its performance. High temperatures get worse because to overclock you have to sometimes raise the standard voltages in the computers chip. Higher voltages = more power consumption and thus generates much more heat. The price that you have to pay for ...
...getting to 60 degrees C on my AMD 4200+, now tuned to 2.6gig instead of the standard 2.2gig. Now, fully stressed it only just reaches 53 degrees. Better than I expected. To translate that to you more it means that this cooler is 12% more efficient than the better than standard one that I replaced earlier. I would suggest that this cooler is a good 35% more efficient than the fins that you get with your CPU chip. In addition to the outstanding perfomance ... Read review

Good Knight :)
Review of ASUS Silent Knight II by gothicbob

Advantages: Preformance, Stylish, Good at cooling
Disadvantages: Price, Minor noise

...20 degrees lower with the Asus Silent Knight II. There are many people who have overclocked much further than this amount, however I'm not going to try it just yet (I've head stories of people at 3.2Ghz from a 2.4Ghz processor) The fan on the cooler is pretty quite, yet not completely silent so I tend to run it with the fan unplugged. I have a closed opaque case at the moment so the aesthetics of not using the blue LED and fan are not wasted. I ...
...this CPU cooler was a show stopper. I purchased this cooler from ebuyer for about £35. I have had it for about a year or so and it has preformed very well, no problems with it so far. Overall I gave this product a 4 out of 5 as its moderately expensive, and the fan makes a small amount of noise. However it is a monolith of a cooler. ... Read review

Superb Budget Cooler
Review of Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro by nemesis2004

Advantages: Very quiet when idle, comes with thermal paste, good conductivity
Disadvantages: Quite noisy at higher RPMs, tricky to install

...Air Flow: 45 CFM Bearing: ARCTIC Ceramic Bearing Weight: 520g Noise Level: 0.9 Sone Thermal Resistance: 0.17 degrees c/w Conclusion Whilst maybe not suitable for overclocking, if you're looking to make your computer a lot quieter, you should really consider the Freezer 7 Pro. In comparison to similar products, it's relatively cheap but really does perform as well as units twice the price. ... Read review

Arctic Cooling Silent 4 Ultra - Fancy silence??
Review of Arctic Cooling Super Silent 4 Ultra by panther23

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: none

...impressed. Silence Arctic Ultra Silent fan is moving on high quality Ceramic bearing. Trust me or not, had many computers in my life and in my hands but this cooler is seriously well made and designed. Thanks that doesn't have to work with higher speed like most coolers on the market. It is slower but even thought has much better performance and properties. Arctic Is really amazing. Some technical data and properties: - Heat Sink: 92 x 92 x ...
...- Overall Dimensions: 92 x 92 x 75 mm - For the Air Flow relevant Height:47 mm - Rated Fan Speed: 1000 - 2300 RPM - Power Consumption: 0.13 Amp. - Air Flow: 42 CFM / 72 m3/h - Weight: 374 g - Noise Level: 0.4 - 1.4 Sone - Thermal Resistance: 0.30°C/Watt I have it on my PC with a Pentium IV 3.0GHz processor with HT. Does cool it to 38-40 degree of Celsius. Even when overclocked the processor to 3.6 temperature rose only by 2-3 degrees. It ... Read review

It does the job
Review of Akasa AK 925 REVO Thermodynamic by DAkuma

Advantages: Near silent operation, very light weight
Disadvantages: £40 price tag, looks ugly

...buy a cleaner such as Akasa TIM £5 from PC World to get all the thermal paste from your CPU and make it spotless. Even a thumb print will reduce the effectiveness of heat conductivity, and you can't use any old cleaner for this purpose. The verdict: I am still breaking in silver compound that sits between the heatsink and the CPU, and am told after 200+ hours of computing this will further reduce the temperature by 2-5c. This in mind, the CPU remains ...
...difference with my old heat sink isn't so much the temperature, but the fan speed, which has been reduced by 1000 RPM. The CPU would be cooler, but I have my BIOS running the fan speed to match the temperature, and as the danger temperature is 65c for my Athlon X2, 37-40c seems like a good temperature to keep it at, while keeping the fan down to 1300 rpm. I must note, it is summer and very hot in my room with these tests (26c), so expect the temperature ... Read review
