Akasa EVO98 CPU Cooler
Review of Akasa EVO 98 by Sneaky_Bugger

Advantages: Awesomely efficient cooling of your CPU
Disadvantages: means removing your MOBO to install it (But it is well worth it!)

I installed the cooler and noticed an immediate drop in temp when the comp is under load. I had a bigger than standard cooler already but I have got into tweaking and overclocking my computer to enhance its performance. High temperatures get worse because to overclock you have to sometimes raise the standard voltages in the computers chip. Higher voltages = more power consumption and thus generates much more heat. The price that you have to pay for ...
...getting to 60 degrees C on my AMD 4200+, now tuned to 2.6gig instead of the standard 2.2gig. Now, fully stressed it only just reaches 53 degrees. Better than I expected. To translate that to you more it means that this cooler is 12% more efficient than the better than standard one that I replaced earlier. I would suggest that this cooler is a good 35% more efficient than the fins that you get with your CPU chip. In addition to the outstanding perfomance ... Read review

Arctic cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Review of Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro by dav1d_gogs73

Advantages: Cheap, Powerfull and efficient
Disadvantages: A bit fiddly to install

...Celsius and with the new Arctic Freezer 7 Pro i am now peaking on full load at 46 degrees Celsius. (My tower also has 3 additional cooling fans as well so i had to point it out.) The Fan being mounted on the side of the Heat sink is a great idea as heat naturally rises. Also the fins at the bottom of the heat sink direct airflow towards the motherboard components which helps keep them cool. When this initially arrived in the post i was surprised ... Read review

Can't go wrong
Review of Zalman CNPS 9700 LED by furblesnick

Advantages: works, is quiet
Disadvantages: none

...like quiet PCs will know Zalman products. The ZALMAN 9700 LED is a cooler for the CPU and it is compatible with the following chipsets: Socket 754, Socket 940, Socket 775, Socket 939, Socket AM2 Performance I don't have any temperature comparisons with other coolers but it's sat on top of my Core 2 Duo 6600 and is very quiet indeed, plus I can barely get the CPU temp over 35 degrees even on a hot day playing a 3d game. I should point out ...
...LEDs in it, so as it spins in the dark, it looks cool too. Conclusion The ZALMAN 9700 LED is a high quality super quiet, vibration free, highly efficient CPU cooler. It does its job and looks cool at the same time. I recommend it unreservedly. ... Read review

cooling on a budget
Review of Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro by sim_simian

Advantages: cheap and quiet
Disadvantages: installation nightmare

I bought this cooler the other day on Amazon and it arrived today, thankfully 20 minutes after my new cpu did. The first thing that struck me was that the fan is positioned to the side of the heatsink rather than on top of it. Thus blowing hot air through the fins of the heatsink, which has the added advantage of cooling the electical transistors on the motherboard. The heatsink also came with thermal paste already in place which made things easier. ...
...pc) this seems so quiet, its unbelievable. A few times today I have thought the pc was not coming on because I could nt hear anything. In fact I never realised my hard drive made so much noise. So a few hours in and no problems and very happy with the product. That said all was not "sunshine and lollipops", the installation was a complete nightmare. Now I have never changed a heatsink before but having looked at some on-line guides, I thought how ... Read review

Not the best Zalman cooler on the market.
Review of Zalman CNPS 8000 by cport80

Advantages: Supports both AMD & Intel chips
Disadvantages: Quirky intel clip, not the quietest fan.

...out of stock of another Zalman cooler. It is a copper based heatsink with copper heat pipes which connect to a steel fan assembly with the fan on top (as pictured). It is supplied with supporting clips for both 754/775 and socket 939/940 and you have to fix the right one according to your set-up. The Intel clip felt as though I was going to break it before I would get the two sides of the clip to seperate and I eventually prised it open with a ...
...cleaner. I ended up using an old aero cooler off its heatsink with a manual speed controller to increase air-flow through the case to keep the same temerature limit while running the Zalman fan at 2000rpm which cut the sound levels significantly. Not the solution I had originally intended. ... Read review
