=Proclear dailes – 1 day Contact Lenses=

After wearing contact lenses many years ago, on and off for the last 20 years, as I found I was not wearing them regulary enough, that I was better getting daily disposable lenses. The downside to this as I suffer with dry eyes I needed a lenses with a higher water content, which suddenly starts putting the price bracket up.

Two years ago I was going abroad and decided that this would be the time to try daily disposables again, as I wanted to go in and out of the pool, but still needed to see what I was doing.

I found these Proclear lenses, they were available in boxes of 30 pairs of lenses, I paid about £30 for them.

-The lenses-

The lenses come in strengths ranging from +7.00 to -10.00 in increments of .50. Each box has 30 soft contact lenses stored in a buffered saline solution.

-The Scientific Bit-

Proclear lenses are specially designed to keep fresh throughout the day, as they contain a unique material that is found in human tears. This substance attracts and surrounds themselves with water, which keeps the lenses moist and comfortable, even allowing 12 hours of wear.

-My Experience-

As there is a slight difference between my eyes, the first thing I did was mark the boxes as left and right, and also on the contact lenses sleeve.

When I opened the first lenses, I was amazed at how clear the lenses was, they were easy to see, I was able to get the lenses out of the solution at the first attempt, and then put straight into my eye. I noticed straight away that these lenses felt very soft in my eye, as I have previously experienced problems where after a couple of hours that lenses have been unbearable and back to the glasses.

As I was intending to wear the lenses on a regular basis, I started wearing these lenses every other day, building up my wear, the first time I wore these lenses, for 4 hours, as soon as I put the lenses in they felt soft in my eyes, they were very comfortable, and I really didn’t feel like I had any lenses in.

Within 2 weeks, I had used 7 pairs of the lenses and had increased the time up to 8 hours and wow was the word, when i would take the lenses out, my eyes felt as moist as when I had first put the lenses in, there was no redness, there was no itching of my eyes.

=The Holiday=

By now I had decided that the contact lenses were going to be a strong part of my holidays, and I found another website that sold the lenses in 90 pairs at a cost of £80.00. So I did a bulk purchase as these would last me about 6 months.

The lenses were absolutely perfect, I wore them in 30C heat, on a daily basis, even though I did put sunglasses on as well, my eyes did not dry out, and I did not need to use the eye drops that I had brought to keep my eyes moist.

The lenses were that comfortable that I had to remember to take them out at the end of the night, which is an experience that I never found before.

I would highly recommend these lenses, they may be a bit dearer than other lenses, but these stand out head and shoulders above the rest.
