Sun protection that lasts 9 of 9 Ciao Users found the following review helpful

Advantages Last for six hours per application

Disadvantages Maybe a touch more expensive that other sun protection

Working part time on open top tour buses going without sun protection is not really an option for me. Plus when working four-hour shifts taking a break to apply a normal sun cream that lasts only two hours can be impractical.
Once upon a time I used to work in the tropics teaching outdoor sport all day. This is another profession that requires sun protection and very soon after starting my job I had found a waterproof cream that lasted all day with just one application. Unfortunately I could find no such thing available in the UK, until now that is.
Both Superdrug and Boots stock Proderm in a range of factors: 8, 15, 25 and 30. If your like me you’ll buy from Superdrug but if your a sucker for advantage points then go to Boots, cost really isn’t an issue here. Its the convenience that sells the product.
One coating of Proderm number 15 every morning and however strong the Cambridge sunshine is it can’t do me over and turn me into a lobster. Surprisingly this stuff comes in a moose which initially might seem a bit odd. It gives it the advantage though that its harder to spill everywhere although when applying it on your face without a mirror you do risk getting lumps of foam in your fringe! The secret to its long lastingness it that, as it says on the bottle. ‘Most sunsreens act as barriers on the skin and their benefit can be reduced by swimming and towel drying. Unlike other products Proderm Transdermal Moose is rapidly absorbed into the skin so that it is resistant to water and towel drying.’ This also makes it effective for six hours.
To test the swimming and towel drying bit I gave my brother some to take on holiday to Portugal. Naturally a higher factor was required but he still burnt at lot less than his ex-girlfriend, (apparently they’re just ‘friends’ now!) who was using conventional crappy cream.
You’ll pay between £9.99 and £11.99 for 150ml depending what SPF factor you buy. This weighs in at around £3-4 more than your standard cream. Bear in mid though that you will be applying it a lot less and you’ll also be able to get in and out of the pool/sea as many times as you like without having to worry whether or not you’re still protected. As I said before the cost shouldn’t be and issue with a product as convenient as this. One day all sun protection will be made this way.

This was recommended to my partner after he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma skin cancer (but factor 30) and now does for all the family. Sue
