Advantages: good department, good equipment, loads of guest lecturers Disadvantages: Too wide a range of subjects, some evil maths, teaching on a superficial level
...is that throughout the course the department gets guest lecturers in from the design industry on a regular basis. These lecturers are usually more than happy to answer any questions you might have and provide a valuable method of linking what you are learning to the real world. Just don't mention that bloke who designed the clockwork radio to any of the staff or you will never hear the end of it.
In conclusion i would say that while this is a fairly good course and the design department has good funding it doesn't really prepare you well enough to actually work in the design industry (but i might have missed those lectures). All it left me with was the conclusion that 90% of so called 'productdesigners' are just parasites who are getting paid a vast amount of money for blagging it....

Advantages: design does sell by itself so you have no reason to not do it Disadvantages: take 4 years to complete de course
...buy is very important as like what is inside (product), you do buy more if LOOKS GOOD, but please understand that when I used the words- looks good - I did refer about the visual concept. Indeed the design is for your eyes only - the consumer. What you see is the first catch, and sometimes I must admit the product you're buying is not as good as it seems.
If the opinion is interesting for you to study design you need 4 years, and I can inform you that you need 90% of creativity, and if you have it, just go for it!I did study abroad, but here you can find great courses, so that's why I talked about design as such, more than where I did my University....

...Buckinghamshire Chilterns University College is located in High Wycombe1 I am a third year student at BCUC studying for a BSc in Design Technology with Management as my choosen minors.
The University has several campuses and as most Universities depending on the course and which faculty that course falls into, determines as to which site you end up at. I was lucky enough to have all my lectures at the mian High Wycombe campus. I can only really tell you about five courses, some in brief, :
Design Technology (DT)
ProductDesign (PD)
CAD/CAM
Graphics
Textile Design
As I study DT I will start with this. My course actually shares with two other courses of similar nature, these being ProductDesign and CAD/CAM, and out of these three i believe that DT is more interesting and diverse.
In my first year i had acedemic as well...
