Advantages: Comprehensive, interesting and technically useful Disadvantages: Complex in parts - not for a casual reader
I am working on ASP applications at work and started off knowing very little. I now know a great deal thanks to this book! Be warned - not an easy book to read - it is aimed at the more experienced developer. However - if you are familiar with Visual Basic or another high-level language, you should be able to get into and pick sections from the book quite easily.
The book covers changes in ASP, fundamentals of application development, Data Access using ADO 2.5, OLE DB, XML and RDS, component services offered by COM+, Messaging and transactional support, accessing Active Directory, Email support, building web farms and security - there is more!!!
