Project64 (Nintendo 64 Emulator)

I've owned an N64 since it was first released, but after the Playstation 2 came out, the poor Nintendo sat unused on one of my shelves for years. Recently, however, I brought it down to my flat at university and have been playng on it for the "retro" games. Some of the games I own are now broken due to incidents with spilled coffee, being stepped on etc. So when I wanted desperately to play one of these games I turned to emulators so that I would be able to play the games I own on my PC. Project 64 is a program for the PC that emulates another machine and enables you to play games that were designed for that machine. So what machine does it emulate? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It emulates the Nintendo 64, a console that was released a while back and has long since stopped being sold in most outlets. When I found out it was possible to run console games on my PC, I was very excited, however this excitement soon turned to disappointment when I spent many hours trying to find a good N64 emulator and pretty much failed. Then I found the website for Project 64! I had already downloaded abour 15 ROMs when I found it, and I was glad to find that this emulator actually had some quality to it. Most of the others I downloaded either claimed they ran games which they couldn't, which was extremely annoying, or they would run 1 or 2 games at maximum. This is a free programme whic allows you to play N64 games on your PC for free! This machine emulates the N64 an almost impossible console to get hold of. This is a great idea for those who apreciate the greatness of the N64 COMPATIBILITY 85%-90% of the games that used to be out for the N64. the other 10%-15% is of games that work but have problems. The N64 Emulation group are currently working on those in hop of finding a way to fix the problems. A very good emulator, proabably the best Nintendo 64 emulator avalible, plays nearly every N64 game, every game ive tried has worked with a few error is a coupe of games, but not making them unplayable. To use this you will need to have a computer with a decent specification and your graphics card better be no slouch your you will find it running slow. One problem emulators always have over the console itself is the controls, playing a N64 game using your keyboard is not easy, however there are devices on the market that will allow you to plug a N64 controller into your PC via the uSB port, if ... more
