Project Gotham Racing is the best racing series going and, in my opinion, PGR 4 is the best racing game out on xbox 360. It has so many different things that you can do, which gives the game a huge lifespan and makes it better than any other racing game.
Career- A massive career is present in PGR 4 where you have to work your way up the world drivers leaderboard in an attempt to become world number 1. You play back to back tournaments which have a series of events you must complete and win. Career also features 'invitationals' to earn special cars.
Arcade- 10 chapters, each with 6 events and each event has 5 difficulties. This mode adds a great amount to the games lifespan as it will keep you busy, entertained and challenged.
Multiplayer/Free Race- Another mode for you and your friends to have custom races with your favourite cars.
Online- Features several race modes incl. Single race, Team race, Single and Team Championships. Online also has the 'PGR on demand' feature where you can upload photos and replays and download other peoples. There is never a shortage of people playing online making it a very good game for xbox live.
In PGR 4 you can race as either cars or motorbikes (the total amount of vehicles are approx. 200- ranging from G class such as Mini Coopers to A class such as the McLaren F1). There are several race modes including- street race, eliminator, hot lap, superstar, cone and super cone sprint, time vs kudos, checkpoint, speed checkpoint and more. In races you earn kudos from performing stylish maneuvers which can then be used to purchase new cars and tracks. (On motorbikes you can also perform stunts like wheelies, endos and showboating for max kudos which is a great addition to the game.)
The game in general is easy to get to grips with because it has simple controls and plenty of difficulty settings so you can get used to it. It wont take much practice before you can consider yourself a 'very good' player.
The graphics and sound are spectacular with amazing attention to detail on the race tracks. Cars are damaged and scratched in collisions which is a testament to its realism, and that is without mentioning weather conditions. You can race in fog, snow, storms, rain and more giving you an ultra realistic racing experience.
The game also contains hundreds of licensed vehicles from all your regular and favourite companies including Ferrari, Lambourghini, Mercedes, Pagani etc. PGR 4 has a wide variety of race tracks in major cities including London and Las Vegas and includes famous race tracks including the Nurburgring.
Overall, i would recommend this game to anyone as it is definately the best racing game around. Dont settle for mediocre games such as Forza 2 and NFS, buy the best and thats PGR 4! 9/10
