Project Gotham Racing 4 (PGR4) improves on where Project Gotham Racing 3 left off.
The gameplay is roughly the same, and it's very much an arcade game. It's very easy to powerslide round corners at 150mph etc - something which would be very difficult in real life! There are a wide range of tracks (although they're nearly all city based). There's only one proper race track, and that's the Nurburgring.
There are also now bikes in PGR4, which are, bluntly, crap. They have good speed but the handling is rubbish, they can't turn at all! Cars are far better in terms of racing, although it's quite fun doing wheelies etc on the bikes.
There are quite a few choices of cars, and they all do over 150mph. They range from a Ferrari F430 to a Koenigsegg CCX, and all are pretty fun. One thing I do find annoying is the number of glitches in the game. For example, in the F430 Scuderia, there are LEDs on the wheel that light up to tell you when to change gear. In the game, all these LEDs are fully lit up at 4,000 rpm, while in the real car they wouldn't be until 8,500...it's not a big problem, but it does annoy me.
Overall, PGR4 is a good game, but only if you don't like more realistic games. If you do like your gran turismo etc then it'll be fun for a while, but quickly get boring.
