Project IGI, or I'm Going In, is a cross between the old Delta Force games and

PlayStation's Metal Gear Solid. Giving you a game that involves stealth, fast-paced action and cunning prowess.Based around 12 gruelling and difficult levels, the aim of the game is to go in, fulfil the mission objectives and get out again.Entrusted with a handful of weapons and field PDA--very handy--you've got to dodge the cameras and the guards while you complete your mission.Where Project IGI excels is in the detail, whether it's the landscapes or the AI (artificial intelligence) that sees guards running around to attack you from behind rather than run into a hail of bullets and you've got a game that although only 12 missions long will take you some time to complete.IGI, like Eidos' other title Hitman, has no in-game save, making it a game for hardened gamers looking for that next challenge where the words "I'm Going In" really does mean just that. --Stuart Miles
Advantages: Huge sized levels, decent graphics and sound, good range of weapons, more realistic than other games of this genre. Disadvantages: Crap A.I., terrible building design.
In Project:IGI (which stands for "I'm Going In" and will now be known from now on as IGI) you play David Llewellyn Jones, an ex-sas officer recruited by an anonymous counter-terrorist organisation to retrieve a stolen American nuclear warhead from what appears to be a Russian crime syndicate headed by members of the Pribori family. Jones is aided on this mission by Anya, an agent of the counter terrorist force who supplies him with mission updates ... ...infiltrate a small military base and steal some transport to get you to the next mission area (you only have to get to the transport, you don?t have to drive it to the next point). IGI is a first person shooter (FPS), split into fourteen different missions, each of which advances the main story. Unlike some recent FPSs (Quake 3, Unreal Tournament etc.), and from what brief plot details I've given above you can guess that it's set in a real world ...

Advantages: Great graphics, Runs well on a variety of machines, Good weapons and recoil effects Disadvantages: Lack of AI, Lack of savegame feature, Lack of multiplayer
First before I get to the criticsms I will go over the good parts, Graphics ******** Using a modified engine from a flight sim, ensures that this game can show vast distances with ease. The graphics are good, whilst not being outstanding. A disappointment is the limited amount of death animations that the enemies have. If you have a decent PC with a lot of ram, then you can up the resolution and graphics details to maximum. The almost compulsory ... ...playing areas well. Performance *********** This game is not too demanding, though if you only have 64mb ram then it is worth doubling that at least. As an example three machines I have played this game with: My machine - AMD Thunderbird 900mhz 384 Megs Ram 32mb GeForce 2 MX graphics card I run the game at 1024x768 (32 bit colour) all graphics maxed out with no slowdown or jerkiness present whatsoever. My Sisters machine (my old one) AMD K62-450 ...

...in the elements and stealth.
Project IGI although not as radical as the fore mentioned game strikes a fine balance between the stealth em up and the shoot up.
The basic premise of Project IGI is that you are an ex- SAS man (David Jones, its a shame it's not the British Monkee) on a mission to retrieve stolen nuclear warheads deep within the old soviet block. The game takes place over a number of vast levels all with their own missions and sub missions, ... ...goals.
So had does Project IGI play? Well from the hours that I have sacrificed on it, very well indeed. Initially Project IGI feels like any other first person shoot up, with one slight difference that you are given a mission objective at the start of each level. Yes I know other games have done this before, bit the cut scenes that head every mission are superbly done and give the game that little bit of something unique. So like me you start the ...

Advantages: Storyline, game structure, environments Disadvantages: AI at times; 'magically materialising' soldiers
...perfect. Aside from these gripes, Project IGI is a very good game and provides a challenge even on the easy setting. However, there may be a patch released to upgrade the software and allow a save game facility. This will make things a whole lot easier but perhaps that would be a pity in a way. The best compromise might be to limit the number of saves per mission to two, or maybe three at most to keep the swear box empty.
Overall Project IGI (It ...

Advantages: Good weapons, sounds and graphics. Interesting game-play Disadvantages: The soldiers don't always react to your gunfire or the sight of someone being shot next to them.

I've just bought Project IGI and have played it non-stop. Having been a devoted fan of the Rainbow Six series, for a while now, I was just dying to get more action! Unfortunately the next Rainbow 6 game doesn't come out until October, so I just had to buy something to fit in as a snack!
Project IGI is more than a snack, it's a meal! This game has got a rather interesting story compared to some other action games. Like many action games, you're ... ...not too big, but in Project IGI, each level is big and takes time to complete, so you might be there all day trying to kill that guy right at the end.
The game can be reasonably difficult and without the save-while-in-game option, you can be there all day. What I would recommend though is not to cheat through it, but to find a walkthrough guide on the internet which talks you through each level and tells you what to do. Although this ruins the surprise ...
