A Decent Purchase Advantages: Size of screen, Virtual Surround Disadvantages: Can't leave a still image on screen I find reviews on any electricals really hard to do, as i'm always sure i'll end up leaving something out and i'm not very technical- meaning this will be a pretty simple one, so i'll try my best to get everything into this review, to make you get a good idea of this tv. Amazing Picture And Size Advantages: picture and sound, remote, size of screen Disadvantages: no built in freeview Thhis tv has some of the best picture and audio i have ever seen or heard from a home tv. We purchased this from our local comet and when it was delivered we told them to take it back as it was very big and we did not think we had anywhere it would fit but after a day or two we started to like it, so we decided to keep it. Our one came with a free HDMI dvd recorder in the box which made even better use of the picture. We do not have a hd satelite ... ...because the picture on our standard box was not any different from the hd channels which is a good thing because it would have cost us more. Samsung SP47W3HFX Advantages: few, up to 5 AV inputs Disadvantages: Poor quality and durability, no parts, repairs possible or back up ...year "throw away" policy from Samsung Spain and at 3,000.00€ a pop this is not a viable proposition. We were given the run around a load of excuses for SIX MONTHS before Samsung in Madrid said it could not be repaired, and this was without a technician even looking inside the thing! A guy did come and fiddle with it to expand the picture and a couple of guys from Samsung looked at the label at the back, shook their heads and left, never to return. ... ...the final entry in the Samsung Spain sarga log was made last week, (March 15th 2008) After a month of delay due to lack of transport, Samsung replaced the duff TV with a 46" LCD free of charge as they, nor anyone else, could repair the SP 47 W3HFX and it was finally collected and scrapped yeasterday, huge delay as the local agent had 't got a van large enough to transport it and they had to hire a removal company to shift it. Size DOES matter! Advantages: Large screen Disadvantages: cant be wall mounted We have had the this Samsung TV for 8 months now and I still find it as impressive as when I first bought it. Okay, it is not thin as a LCD or plasma flat screen but at only aprox 30cm deep it does not fill up as much of the room as you would think. Picture quality it good, colours are not as bright as an LCD but the size of the picture more than makes up for that. Sound quality is very good, even better with a surround sound system, you could almost ... ...HD ready version and HD is an amazing picture, we also play the Wii on it and the bigger screen makes it much more fun Projection TVs give you more screen for your money and the bigger the screen the more you can impress your friends!!!! They will be so impressed with the size they wont' notice that it is not as bright as a plasma or LCD unless you put one next to it to compare. Good enough Pic but no life or support. Advantages: Good pic, many socets like SCART and HDMI Disadvantages: Breaks down often, expensive to buy and very expensive to maintain. limeted viewing angles ...a huge hassle to get Samsung to help. A year and a half later and the same thing this time the bulb (which is supposed to have 7500 hours left) goes on the frits. Also starts making random buzzing noises and when I go online for help their are so many people with Samsung TVs doing similar things it is impossible for me to research and fix it myself. I had to call in Samsung approved repair men and it was very expensive to fix.
