Toshiba TDP ET20
Review of Toshiba TDP ET20 by stephyfishy

Advantages: Cinema size and excellant picture quality
Disadvantages: sound quality

This home projection system was quite costly to buy - at £900 from the tesco webstie less than 12months ago. This was my first ever projector and i am not tech minded so i had no idea what i was looking for - all i wanted was something that could project to a cinema size standard. When it arrived i was impressed with its size, quite compact and the black colouring gave off a professional finish. It was also really easy to set up, literally plugged ...
...comfortably on my side table in the middle of the room - with just the power cable on show - preferably i would like NO wires on show, but i cant have everything. For my first projector i am impressed with the quality of the screen - i dont have one of those white background sheets, i just project it onto my cream wall and the quality is top notch and very large. The speaker quality is adequate, however during explosions scenes or loud music scenes ... Read review

Toshiba TLP-S30 A Form Over Function Projector
Review of Toshiba TLP S30 by taylora-2006

Advantages: Looks Great - Very Stylish, Compact & Very Light.
Disadvantages: Not Bright Enough At All

The Toshiba TLP-S30 Projector This projector is very aesthetically pleasing, it looks very modern and and the face of it looks to be a great projector. There are several important factors to look at when considering buying a projector and that is the brightness. This projector boasts a 1400 lumen lamp. For those of you who aren't used to projector terminology, lumens are just a unit for the measure of how bright the bulb in a projector is (and ...
...Now this isn't an amazing brightness, but the Sanyo PLC-SU20 (just as an example) works comfortably at 1200 lumens and around 1500 lumens is really what somebody new to projectors should probably be looking at. So the brightness of this projector is good then you woul think. Well actually no; On paper the projector should perform very well, but the projector seems to have a brightness of closer to 400 lumens. If your looking for a projector to use ... Read review

NTSC, PAL, SECAM
Review of Toshiba TDP S20 by giles-y

Advantages: Toshiba TDP S20
Disadvantages: keystone adjustments not very useful

...about their useability. the Toshiba TDP S20 comes packed with connectors for connecting almost anything. you get 1x RCA, 1x S-Video, 2x RGB 1x mini D-sub 15, shared with RGB signal Audio 1x stereo mini-jack, 2x RCA for Video, 2x RCA for S-video and it seems to take any format thrown at it NTSC, PAL, SECAM, HDTV/DTV (480p/480i/720p/1080i), DVD, RGB, VGA, SVGA, XGA (compressed), SXGA (compressed), UXGA (compressed), MAC. you also get a remote ...
...and the remote works from back or front of the projector. my only real problem with this projector was the keystone correction. -(when you cant lay the projector dead flat the image tapers the keystone corrects it)- you can only change the vertical kaystone and the range is not to great only about 15 degrees which is nearly flat i found myself using the projector upside down to compensate. once in place and setup you only need the remote to control ... Good viewing experience for a moderate price
Review of BenQ MP512 ST by galloxxl

Advantages: low weight, good price
Disadvantages: fixed zoom ratio

...use. Short-throw technology: The BenQ MP512 ST comes with the short-throw feature which means that the distance between screen/wall and projector is greatly reduced due to a different lense design. A short-throw projector is always a good solution if you have any kinds of space constraints. For Example at home, spaces are limited but you still can have a big screen if you place the projector on the sofa table. In case of holding a presentation ... Read review

pro`s and con`s
Review of Epson EMP S5 by turke54

Advantages: big screen size
Disadvantages: not hd so screen quality slighty lacking

my friend owns one and its a good buy for a cheap slighlty cinema experiance but you should avoid if usin in a small room as it generates a lot of heat an has a constant humming to it that makes you want to throw it out the window! so the pro`s are 1) the screen size can be changed to fit your wall/sreen or what ever up to something stupid like 90" i belive. 2)its fun for big multiplayer games e.g halo3, mario party 3) a cheap way to get a party/cinema ...
...your way an looks kinda smart the con`s are 1)not hd and when my friend bougth this it wasnt that big but now hd is so much cheaper an move availible it would be worth upgradin to an hd model if you have the cash 2)picture quality fades when the screen is made bigger so best to keep it about 60" 3)again its the heat it generates theres no need for heaters with this thing in your room 4)is rather difficult to install if you wish to wall mount it ...
