Why the Sanyo SW30 is so good
Review of Sanyo PLC SW30 by
Paulshistory
Advantages: Cheap, lightweight
Disadvantages: Unusual power lead, manual focus
This projector is one of the cheapest projectors to offer SXGA and XGA (emulated) output. It's lightweight and thus portable, and many offers for it come with a free spare bulb, which normally retail for over £200 alone.
The projector comes complete with 2 remote controls - one of which is used to control presentations eg powerpoint. The 2nd remote controls power on etc.
One of the only downsides to this projector is the projector is manual focus ... ...standing on a chair to refocus it if needed.
Overall I'd say it was certainly value for money - I've bought 10 of these units and have yet to have one either fail or even need a new bulb. They power up in under a minute and when turned off, the fan cools the bulb in under 5 mins, and you can pack up the projector (if used as a portable) in under 20 minutes. ...

Sanyo Projector - PLV Z4
Review of Sanyo PLV Z4 by
Scooop
Advantages: East To use
Disadvantages: None
AN easy to use projector giving a crystal clear picture. when using the projector it is best to mount the projector. For example, a ceiling bracket is best, and then have it project onto either a screen, board or a wall, preferably all should be white surfaces. When using, the controls are simple, as is the installation, and the insturctions on how to begin and set up are easy to use. novice friendly. It has a short 'warm-up' time and then begins ...

Sanyo PLC-SU20 A Good All-Rounder
Review of Sanyo PLC SU20 by
taylora-2006
Advantages: Very Robust, Well Constructed, Will Last A Lifetime!
Disadvantages: No lamp counter
Sanyo PLC-SU20
The Sanyo PLC-SU20 multimedia projector is one of the best projectors in the world. Immediately, you are now going to be wondering why?!?!?! It's bulky, it's not very aesthetically appealing and it's hardly the best spec. in the world. But this is such a reliable projector!
I have owned several of these projector and not one has let me down. They just seem to go and go without fault. The projector's are very robustly made as it has ... ...Sanyo's ranges quite easily. Every sanyo projector model's name will begin with PLC this is then followed (usually) by either SU or XU (these two are the most common). There will usually be and SU and an XU fo every model, for example a PLC-SU20 and a PLC-XU20. These will both fundamentally be the same, but the XU20 would be slightly better specification and therefore slightly more expensive. The XU models tend to be more desirable and achieve higher ...

Sony Projector, Great all rounder!
Review of Sony VPL CX1 by
CHAOS1979
Advantages: Amazing Depth of Colour and Picture Sharpness, portable
Disadvantages: Delicate - Replacement bulbs expensive
I have had this for around a year and its a great piece of Home Cinama Kit. We have the projector set up in our living room and we get a fantastic picture on movies and a 105" Screen. Our room just isn't long enough to make it bigger! We also use it for parties as you can get some outstanding 3d visualisations for winamp etc, always the talk of the party. I was very wary buying one of these, but i found one cheap on ebay and went for it, im so glad ... ...it an awful lot.
There is the obvious drawbacks, you need to have adequate blinds/ cutrains to block light, it needs a dark room to work at its full potential, and be damn careful because those bulbs are expensive to replace.
The set up is easy, connections are straightforward, and there are a good range of menu options enabling you to adjust the projector to your own preferences. ...

You won't need the bloke in IT for this one
Review of Sanyo PDG-DSU20B by
sadoldbag
Advantages: Great picture quality, high brightness, easy to operate
Disadvantages: none
This is a projector designed to work with a lap top and screen so you can do presentations or whatever where you want your computer screen projected. I also use it connected to a TV and VCR so you can project the image onto a larger screen, for showing to a whole room full of people.
It costs £233 at the moment from the BT shop - that's the cheapest price I can find at the moment - I use mine at work, so I don't know what it actually cost.
It is ... ...anywhere, and bore peole to death by powerpoint slide, on a global scale.
It weighs a little over 6lbs, which is not bad, but if you can get the bloke in IT to set it up for you and carry it over, then I'd do that if I were you.
It is a fabulous example of the genre.
Firstly it's intelligent. It recognises when you've plugged something into it and you don't have to press a dozen buttons just to get it to talk to your laptop. I have a system with ...
