Toshiba TDP ET20
Review of Toshiba TDP ET20 by stephyfishy

Advantages: Cinema size and excellant picture quality
Disadvantages: sound quality

This home projection system was quite costly to buy - at £900 from the tesco webstie less than 12months ago. This was my first ever projector and i am not tech minded so i had no idea what i was looking for - all i wanted was something that could project to a cinema size standard. When it arrived i was impressed with its size, quite compact and the black colouring gave off a professional finish. It was also really easy to set up, literally plugged ...
...comfortably on my side table in the middle of the room - with just the power cable on show - preferably i would like NO wires on show, but i cant have everything. For my first projector i am impressed with the quality of the screen - i dont have one of those white background sheets, i just project it onto my cream wall and the quality is top notch and very large. The speaker quality is adequate, however during explosions scenes or loud music scenes ... Read review

NTSC, PAL, SECAM
Review of Toshiba TDP S20 by giles-y

Advantages: Toshiba TDP S20
Disadvantages: keystone adjustments not very useful

...about their useability. the Toshiba TDP S20 comes packed with connectors for connecting almost anything. you get 1x RCA, 1x S-Video, 2x RGB 1x mini D-sub 15, shared with RGB signal Audio 1x stereo mini-jack, 2x RCA for Video, 2x RCA for S-video and it seems to take any format thrown at it NTSC, PAL, SECAM, HDTV/DTV (480p/480i/720p/1080i), DVD, RGB, VGA, SVGA, XGA (compressed), SXGA (compressed), UXGA (compressed), MAC. you also get a remote ...
...and the remote works from back or front of the projector. my only real problem with this projector was the keystone correction. -(when you cant lay the projector dead flat the image tapers the keystone corrects it)- you can only change the vertical kaystone and the range is not to great only about 15 degrees which is nearly flat i found myself using the projector upside down to compensate. once in place and setup you only need the remote to control ... Toshiba TLP-S30 A Form Over Function Projector
Review of Toshiba TLP S30 by taylora-2006

Advantages: Looks Great - Very Stylish, Compact & Very Light.
Disadvantages: Not Bright Enough At All

The Toshiba TLP-S30 Projector This projector is very aesthetically pleasing, it looks very modern and and the face of it looks to be a great projector. There are several important factors to look at when considering buying a projector and that is the brightness. This projector boasts a 1400 lumen lamp. For those of you who aren't used to projector terminology, lumens are just a unit for the measure of how bright the bulb in a projector is (and ...
...Now this isn't an amazing brightness, but the Sanyo PLC-SU20 (just as an example) works comfortably at 1200 lumens and around 1500 lumens is really what somebody new to projectors should probably be looking at. So the brightness of this projector is good then you woul think. Well actually no; On paper the projector should perform very well, but the projector seems to have a brightness of closer to 400 lumens. If your looking for a projector to use ... Read review

TURN YOUR HOME INTO A HOME CINEMA
Review of Toshiba TLP B2 by k_jones

Advantages: size of an A4 piece of paper
Disadvantages: replacement bulb cost

...projector (gotta love Ebay) the Toshiba TLP-B2 now if you want the specific specs then please also look at the product information tab. This review is about how I feel about the performance of this unit and then some hehehe. The Advantages: The Projector: This unit is VERY small (size of an A4 piece of paper) and very light and because of this I have no worries that it is going to fall out of the ceiling where it is mounted currently. When I bought ...
...months to find one PLUS Toshiba has made 2 types of bulbs for this projector (there are 2 models of this projector TLP-B2 and the TLP-B2P) the replacement bulb model numbers are almost exactly the same and only the connection on the bulb itself is different (I know because this was this first bulb I ordered which was of course the wrong bulb). It's because of this cost that my projectors only get used for playing things like my Xbox/PS2, movies, ... Read review

Sony Projector, Great all rounder!
Review of Sony VPL CX1 by CHAOS1979

Advantages: Amazing Depth of Colour and Picture Sharpness, portable
Disadvantages: Delicate - Replacement bulbs expensive

I have had this for around a year and its a great piece of Home Cinama Kit. We have the projector set up in our living room and we get a fantastic picture on movies and a 105" Screen. Our room just isn't long enough to make it bigger! We also use it for parties as you can get some outstanding 3d visualisations for winamp etc, always the talk of the party. I was very wary buying one of these, but i found one cheap on ebay and went for it, im so glad ...
...it an awful lot. There is the obvious drawbacks, you need to have adequate blinds/ cutrains to block light, it needs a dark room to work at its full potential, and be damn careful because those bulbs are expensive to replace. The set up is easy, connections are straightforward, and there are a good range of menu options enabling you to adjust the projector to your own preferences. ... Read review
