NO MORE VPL!
Review of Sony VPL HS1 by jellybean11

Advantages: quiet, horizontal AND vertical keystone adjustment
Disadvantages: no gamma correction facility, low output

...home cinema projectors so unsurprisingly Sony have stripped the features to the minimum; the connectivity of the machine is pretty frugal, for example it has no component input and other technical specification prove that in all essence it’s a rather basic piece of kit with 800 x 600 pixels and 800ANSI Lumens brightness (for the non-techies out there this is quite low although sufficient for a projector). ~~~FEATURES AND SETUP~~~ Although essentially ...
...picture quality in my opinion. Sony have obviously prioritised correctly with this piece of kit because naturally with any projector the key is to have a high picture quality. This machine has three LCD panels fitted to improve colour accuracy and it uses high quality optics. If you’ve got a suitably-equipped DVD player the VPL is also able to display a progressive scan image which a lot of the earlier models don’t. Setting up the unit is very straightforward, ... Infocus Lite Pro 425 Projector
Review of InFocus LP 425 by richard_richard

Advantages: Reliable, good picture quality, easy to use
Disadvantages: Starting to show its age!

The Infocus Lite Pro 425 is a LCD projector designed to display computer images onto a screen or wall. Its compact size shows that it has been built with portability in mind. This projector was purchased about 3 years ago by the company I work for. The projector cost about £1400 and at the time and it was a pretty high specification machine. The projector can display a maximum computer resolution of 800x600 and this is in 24bit colour. Although ...
...been replaced by more modern Infocus versions that can support higher computer resolutions and are of a more compact size. At one point we will probably upgrade to one of these newer units, but I can’t see this being for a while yet as this projector is still going strong. I would recommend the Infocus brand of projectors as they seem to provide reliable projector equipment at competitive prices. Thanks for reading! ... Read review

Sony VPL-CS1 A Projector Well Ahead Of It's Time
Review of Sony VPL CS1 by taylora-2006

Advantages: 1280 x 1024 Maximum Resolution
Disadvantages: Not designed for ceiling mounting.

This is a great projector overall. I recognise that this is a fairly old projector and pretty much outdated, but as I work with secondhand electronics, I am seeing this projector becoming more and more popular. If you are looking to buy one secondhand I wouldn't expect you to pay any more than £200 at most. Please do not be put off by the fact that this projector has a brightness of 600 lumens. It is on par with projectors of around 1500 lumens. ...
...the brightness (1200 lumens) the projectors that come to mind are Toshiba's, but I'll review some of them later. I think that this projector is popular for a couple of reasons. One is that it has a max resolution of 1280 X 1024 which is superior than most new projectors and certainly beats any projector in it's price range. The second is that it is very solidy built. Unless you have seen one of these projectors you may be confused by the look of ... Read review

Good viewing experience for a moderate price
Review of BenQ MP512 ST by galloxxl

Advantages: low weight, good price
Disadvantages: fixed zoom ratio

...use. Short-throw technology: The BenQ MP512 ST comes with the short-throw feature which means that the distance between screen/wall and projector is greatly reduced due to a different lense design. A short-throw projector is always a good solution if you have any kinds of space constraints. For Example at home, spaces are limited but you still can have a big screen if you place the projector on the sofa table. In case of holding a presentation ... Read review

Advantages: big screen size
Disadvantages: not hd so screen quality slighty lacking

my friend owns one and its a good buy for a cheap slighlty cinema experiance but you should avoid if usin in a small room as it generates a lot of heat an has a constant humming to it that makes you want to throw it out the window! so the pro`s are 1) the screen size can be changed to fit your wall/sreen or what ever up to something stupid like 90" i belive. 2)its fun for big multiplayer games e.g halo3, mario party 3) a cheap way to get a party/cinema ...
