The price of portability and quality
Advantages: Portability - appearance - resolution Disadvantages: Price
...the only difference between a Sony and an Aldi is the label they bung on as it goes out the factory door'. Well, from personal experience I still clung to the 'you get what you pay for' philosophy, especially when making purchases for work. (At home, finances don't always stretch that far and then you can hear me talking up my Alba stereo and LG television!)
And so I arrive at the Sony VPL EX1 data projector. For those who have not used or become ... ...and to confirm that the Sony badge does cost a little more than some of the nearby projectors that look similar but carry an alternative brand name.
So, let’s start with the bottom line. This projector cost us £1349.00 but is now available for considerably less if you are prepared to shop around. With 1500 ANSI lumens it is bright enough for presentations in reasonably large venues with the support of blinds at the windows or can cope with ...

Great, with a few hiccups..
Advantages: Great picture quality, especially from HD sources.. Disadvantages: few niggles, poor power connection
...back after a recommendation for optoma DLP projectors. Was also reasonably priced for a HD projection system. Have this hooked up to my PS3 though its HDMI connection at present and it works like a dream, the picture quality is amazing in HD. Watching Bluerays is like being in the cinema. It is possible to use during the day as long as it is not too bright and the projected surface is not in direct light. Have also connected via my laptop and the ... ...slight problem with the power cable, loose connection, however I got this replaced and has caused me no problems since. The projector has also kept telling me the bulb is reaching the end of its useful life, so I bought a new bulb. however it is still working 6 months after warning me. In my opinion it is a great little projector for home cinema use. ...

Mini LED Projector with USB connectivity!
Advantages: LED bulb, quick on quick off, USB connectivity Disadvantages: Wish it was offered in multiple colors
...that’s when I found the BenQ GP1. Of course, you can’t compare the performance between the GP1 and the HD20, but I got to say, for the price you pay for the GP1 and the size and weight of it, it really is an amazing mini projector. Although only with 100 lumens, it is 100 lumens of LED (RGB not white) lamination, and I must say if you compare it with standard LCD or DLP 100 lumens, the LED’s 100 lumens are quite a few multiples higher. And the device ... ...Another great thing is that the GP1, being LED, is able to have instant on/off capabilities, which saves a lot of time. And you can forget about changing bulbs, as LED bulbs will last at least 20,000 hours. The best part about the GP1 is that it comes equipped with a USB port and I also bought the extra adapter for iPod /iPhone connectivity so I could just plug in my iPhone and play movies onto the wall whenever and wherever I want. That’s the great ...

happy owner
Advantages: see above Disadvantages: see above
The Joybee is definitely my favorite and most useful tool I've come upon in a long time. In a world where portability is becoming more and more important (and I travel quite a bit), it's also gotten me through quite a few tough spots. I often carry it in my briefcase and use it on the road. I frequently put movies and sports on my flash drive and hook up my Joybee on the train to get through the commute and catch up on my football. One great example ... ...weeks ago. I was in a client's office and, instead of crowding around his 24 inch monitor to look through some slides, I pulled it out of my bag and we projected the powerpoint on the wall to the tune of about three times that size. The projection quality is great, the resolution allows you to read text easily and videos and slides look really good, and it's bright enough for pretty much anywhere not in direct sunlight. It doesn't hurt that you don't ...

Can you buy a full HD projector on the cheap?
Advantages: Cheap and bright full HD machine Disadvantages: Poor colour reproduction
...Even system graphics like the Optoma logo and the input information are crisp and clear. Plug in a laptop into the machine and you can put the resolution right up to 1080p and see full HD goodness from the internet such as BBC iplayer or Youtube HD. To get the best out of this machine you really need to connect a full HD source such as a Blue Ray player into the HDMI port and here you really enjoy the benefits of full high definition projection. ... ...have done on this machine it is typically Optoma in the way it's a little noisy with lots of fan noise, and it has a very hot air vent output. I also don't like the way the focus isn't matched to the zoom as you find in many other machines. ...
