No chance of a pint sized projection
Review of Toshiba TDP S35 by ultracoolgiovanni

Advantages: fantastic projection quality, large projection area,
Disadvantages: casing can become hot after prolonged usage

...are now equipped with the Toshiba TDP S35 projector, a relative bargain purchase for only 420 Euros (approximately £300). I cannot comment on the actual decision to purchase these projectors over the other brands and models available on the market as I had no hand within the decision making process, but I will provide my opinion on what they are like to use as a presentation tool to the best of my ability. In addition to this, I will provide a comprehensive ...
...using in the past, the Toshiba TDP S35 has a thick silver metal casing that prevents any form of damage should be it knocked out. This casing does attract scratches very easily, but from the audience retains its look of quality. In terms of weight, the projector weighs only 3kg and is easy to reposition in front of a white board or indeed transport to off-site meetings and the size is also surprisingly small fitting into a carry case measuring 9.8cm ... Sony Projector, Great all rounder!
Review of Sony VPL CX1 by CHAOS1979

Advantages: Amazing Depth of Colour and Picture Sharpness, portable
Disadvantages: Delicate - Replacement bulbs expensive

I have had this for around a year and its a great piece of Home Cinama Kit. We have the projector set up in our living room and we get a fantastic picture on movies and a 105" Screen. Our room just isn't long enough to make it bigger! We also use it for parties as you can get some outstanding 3d visualisations for winamp etc, always the talk of the party. I was very wary buying one of these, but i found one cheap on ebay and went for it, im so glad ...
...it an awful lot. There is the obvious drawbacks, you need to have adequate blinds/ cutrains to block light, it needs a dark room to work at its full potential, and be damn careful because those bulbs are expensive to replace. The set up is easy, connections are straightforward, and there are a good range of menu options enabling you to adjust the projector to your own preferences. ... Read review

You won't need the bloke in IT for this one
Review of Sanyo PDG-DSU20B by sadoldbag

Advantages: Great picture quality, high brightness, easy to operate
Disadvantages: none

This is a projector designed to work with a lap top and screen so you can do presentations or whatever where you want your computer screen projected. I also use it connected to a TV and VCR so you can project the image onto a larger screen, for showing to a whole room full of people. It costs £233 at the moment from the BT shop - that's the cheapest price I can find at the moment - I use mine at work, so I don't know what it actually cost. It is ...
...anywhere, and bore peole to death by powerpoint slide, on a global scale. It weighs a little over 6lbs, which is not bad, but if you can get the bloke in IT to set it up for you and carry it over, then I'd do that if I were you. It is a fabulous example of the genre. Firstly it's intelligent. It recognises when you've plugged something into it and you don't have to press a dozen buttons just to get it to talk to your laptop. I have a system with ... Read review

Project Yourself
Review of Epson EMP S5 by sghawken

Advantages: Movies like they are meant to be seen
Disadvantages: Pricely bulbs

...came into contact with the Epson X52 (a posher version of the product I'm reviewing here). My little mind began thinking overtime and it was not long before I had purchased the Epson EMP S5 projector from play.com for £250. Expense would not have been an issue selling my prize TV pocketed me well over £1000, so I could have gone higher but to be perfectly honest I thought this was the same projector I used at work, which was good enough for me. ...
...it was not the same one I use at work, but that was fine I still wanted it, I NEEDED it in fact. Setting up the projector is a doddle, more so than setting up a TV, you simply position the projector where you want it and plug the wires in. You can have sound through the projector, but having a cinema sound DVD player I never felt there was much reason to do this, onboard sound being only mono. You can connect a DVD player via AVI sockets or S Video ... Read review
