I was helping a friend last week to buy a car. She had a limited budget and needed a safe car that would not prove to be a white elephant! My husband came with us but stayed in the background. What he likes is for me to check the car over and watching the face of the salesman as I find the faults, about the cars history, bounce the supension and even go underneath the car to check for damage. You see, I am was taught at the age of sixteen to rebuild a V4 engine under the guidence of my husband (an engineer) and my father in law (a car mechanic). I have some working knowledge about car mechanics!
Back to the Proton Garage. We popped into this new dealership in Cambridgeshire. Straight away I was on the lookout for my brief and I seemed to find it in a Secondhand Volvo 340 1.7, in the lot. The salesman and owner of the franchise did not talk down to me and answered my questions with language of a technical nature. It was a refreshing change. Tumbs up to this owner, and any sales men out there, remember we women do not just want to have a car of a pretty colour, we also want to know how the car really works.
