Advantages Low cost. Does not affect the insurance of the car owner.
Disadvantages Cannot be used to insure a learner's own car.
""Provisional Marmalade"" is a stand-alone insurance which provides the required third party cover, as required by law and it also covers the obligation of the driver towards the car owner. In the event of a crash whilst the learner is driving the claim is made against the learner driver's policy. Any such claim does not affect the insurance of the car owner or their no-claims bonus.
Cover is arranged online and the learner can drive straight away, whilst under supervision.
