Psychology - Henry Gleitman

I recently completed the Graduate Conversion Diploma in Psychology, a year long course which leads to graduate registration with the British Psychological Society - an essential requirement for those wishing to pursue a professional qualification as a psychologist. At level 1 (equivalent to 1st year BSc) it was recommended that if we were to shell out money on any book, then this was the one to go for. This book has everything that you need for 1st year at uni. We were told to get this book as it has everything in it that our course covers. The topics are clearly set out and there is an index at the back for looking up specific things. I found this book really interesting and not only read the thing covered on the course but read other things that took my interest. It basically give a quick overview of different areas so that students can get a basic understanding. It has relevant pictures and diagrams - even pictures of famous people and scenes from films.
