Pulse Practice Cymbal 14inch Crash

Advantages: Cheaper than other brands and models, good first time cymbal

Well, I love Zildjian cymbals over any other, the relativley new Zildjian ZBT Cymbals are 'budget' cymbals made from Zildjian Bronze Techology, hence the name ZBT. .... Z-Custom 21" Mega Bell Ride This cymbal is VERY loud and very nice sounding, the large bell makes it easy to play (the bell) and gives you a bit of space to concentrate on what your non ride cymbal hand is doing, which in my case is a good thing. you can use it as a crash in some circumstances, but beware its is almost like white noise and has a VERY slow decay. Z-Custom 14" Dyno Beat Hi Hats These were the only pair of cymbals i was not happy with - it might be down to my style of drumming but they are simply too heavy to do fills on the hi hat with. that said, with an open hi hat on a loud metal song - these sound great.... ...The ZBT range is Zildjian's attempt at making 'budget' cymbals. For your £150 you get a pack consisting of a set of 14" Hi-hats, a 16" Crash and a 20" Ride. The cymbals all have the Zildjian logo on them and have a nich shiny finish. There is one thing that I don't like about these cymbals though, and that is the crash. It has a sound that I can only describe as the sound you would get if you hit a metal dustbin lid. It is an extremley raw, jagged sound, which dies out quite slowly. This might be the sound you want if you play in a really heavy band, but if you are mainly using the cymbals for emphasis in quieter songs, it really doesn't work. However, the hi-hats and ride are quite good, in fact they are excellent when considering the cost. Thi hi-hats give a crisp sound when they are played shut, although do suffer slightly...
