I bought the Punch 120 amplifier and speakers because a couple of my closest friends owned them for their vehicles. I can't say enough about this In Car Audio system. It is such a good value for the money that I paid for it. The Amplifier by itself was $250.00 and each 10in. sub woofers were $100.00 each, and they put out 200 watts. Then...of coarse I had to buy the box for the subs...which was a wopping $200.00 and not to mention all of the wiring to connect everything to my car. All in all I spent about $600.00 on the entire system. This wasn't a bad deal at all for the performance I have gotten from them! I should mention that I have also bridged this system so that it will give me 200 watts instead of 120 My car mirrors rattle and shake from the bass of this system...I can't say enough about how loud the Punch 120 system goes...and yet it still sounds great.
Punch has many amplifiers to choose from with higher wattages. You can choose the Punch 100-100 watts, 120, 160, 250, 360, 500, and 800-which would give you 800 watts of power. I chose the 120 watt because I have 2 children in the car so I really do not need that much sound!
Punch amplifiers have Cast Aluminum heatsink, which provides the Punch to cool 30% faster than some others. The Punch also has Speaker terminals which are gold plated so that they will never corrode. It has RCA input jacks which are great because you just plug them in and you are ready to go...theres no messing around with all of those wires! The Punch also has a led power light to let you know that it is on...which doesn't make a big difference to me because it is in the trunk and I can't see it anyway! So what I did was hooked up a on/off switch on my car dash so this way, when my kids are in the car I just turn it off! Punch amplifiers, as I have already mentioned are bridegable. This is for the most optimum performance. The crossover can perform 3 different functions, which are High Pass, Low Pass and Full Range. Of coarse my amp is on Full Range. It really pumps out the bass beautifully!
Punch amplifiers come with a manual for installation and a service number to call just in case you have problems installing it. I suggest you read the manual before getting started because it will tell you what types of wiring to buy and what tools you will need for the job.
Punch's come with a 3 year warranty on their amplifiers and a 1 year warranty on their speakers. The Punch audio systems have a really good reputation in the states. It is one of the leading manufacturers of car audio systems. I have definitly enjoyed my Punch sound system!
UPDATE
When I said that I think my car will fall apart...I have 3 new rattles in it now. It's still a great system though!
And I should've pointed out that Punch equiptment is actually made by the all well known Rockford Fosgate! So if anyone would like to check it out you will have to go to the Rockford Fosgate site!
Another girl racer in the making!!!! LOL! I have never actually heard of Punch! (don't think I would have a massive amp in my tiny little car - in the US you all have big cars don't you!)
