Advantages: 100% WASHABLE; 100% BREATHABLE; 100% ANTI ALERGENIC; 100% SAFER THAN OTHER BABY MATTRESSES Disadvantages: NONE
My baby needed the safest mattress I could find - yet non of the mattresses I looked at offered me what I preceived as safe. Some were breathable, have you tried actually breating through them, very different from what I think is breathable. Anti alergy and dust mite repellant, no-one could convince me; hygeinic some were partly washable so some of the mattress would be clean; could I get a mattress with no chemical to make it fire retardant - no; ... ...fell confident it was still OK - no I was told "new baby new mattress" why I asked, I found out the reason was that the mattresses over time build up all sorts of moulds and fungi as well as millions of house dust mites so I was ten expect to spend another £100 plus for my next baby.

Anti alergy and dust mite repellant, no-one could convince me; hygeinic some were partly washable so some of the mattress would be clean; could I get a mattress with no chemical to make it fire retardant - no; could I use the mattress for my next baby and fell confident it was still OK - no I was told "new baby new mattress" why I asked, I found out the reason was that the mattresses over time build up all sorts of moulds and fungi as well as millions of house dust mites so I was ten expect to spend another £100 plus for my next baby.

I can see it is obviously the safest mattress; 100%25 breathable (truely breathable) air can circulate around my baby allthe time so I know her temperature can be controlled far easier than on any other mattress ; 100%25 washable; no dust mites or other nasty stuff in it; it support my baby completely I can see through it it's completely hollow and can have the tension of the surface adjusted so it fits my baby's shape not my baby fitted the shape of the mattress. I could go on and on I love it and guess what I was invented by a mum yippee!
The PurFlo cot mattress includes all of the PurFlo mattress innovations and technology as standard, it is designed to fit the Jack Horner PurFlo range of cots and is easily accomodated in other cots. Dimensions: 120cm x 60cm. Detailed clinical studies of the thermal balance of infants sleeping on a PurFlo® mattress have taken place at the sleep laboratory, University of Bristol, under the leadership of Peter Fleming CBE, MB, ChB, PhD, FRCP(C), FRCP, FRCPCH, Professor of Infant Health and Developmental Physiology. Extrapolating from these studies of infant physiology, the company is confident that: the mattress is safe for babies in the first few weeks after birth, when it is particularly important to ensure that they do not get too cold, by virtue of its breathable surface, the mattress reduces the risk of overheating in older babies because it has lower thermal insulation than ordinary mattresses, overheating, particularly when a baby has an acute infection, can be very dangerous, the mattress prevents the pooling of exhaled carbon dioxide (CO2) and makes it less likely that this will be re-inhaled. There is evidence that in some circumstances rebreathing can be fatal to a baby. Features: The structure of a PurFlo mattress: allows gases and fluids to pass through allows allergens to fall through provides a comfortable and supportive sleeping surface is easy to remove and replace can be laundered according to the instructions provided, to kill house dust mites and remove their excreta and the allergens they produce, and to remove bacteria and fungi. The mattress has these additional benefits: putting a baby to sleep on its back is undoubtedly the safest position; a Purflo mattress may help babies to stay in this position, Purflo mattresses combine with PurFlo SleepSacs to form the PurFlo SleepSystem that eliminate soft bedding. Bedding that can be pulled over the babys head is dangerous; this may be because of overheating or suffocation.
