The future of small, lightweight and discreet recording has arrived. The Flip measures just 4.17 x 2.16 x 1.25 and weighs in at a 4.9 ounces featherweight. There is little style to the product but then who needs it when it operates so effectively for such an incredible price.
The structure is very simple with the front casing a fixed focus lens and a built in microphone. The back has a basic user interface that is a simple point ... ...unit produces AVI files at 30 frames per second with a resolution of 640 x 480. The battery life is an impressive 2.5 hours. A 1.5 inch TFT Screen and speaker provides the view and play back facility.
The 2GB internal memory gives about 60 mins of recording and the quality is only reasonable and you get what you pay for. With only a 2 x digital zoom and no lighting, the Flip Ultra has definite limitations.

Why would you buy this video camera?
If your plan is to record those very special moments of weddings or parties then this camera will not deliver the standard to impress others viewing the end result. It is better to find another £50 - £100 and upgrade to a higher end SD Camera.
However, if you are out on a night out and you want to film those spontaneous moments, (that invariably end up on YouTube), then this is the camera for you. It can be carried effortless in a back or inner pocket, a purse or handbag. Its use is quick and effortless and at the end of the evening you just flip out the USB port, attach to the computer and download. Worried about battery life? then just carry a couple of spare AA batteries.
For those of you with James Bond intentions, the Flip Ultra is also a great discreet camera. You can easily hide it in a room or even store it so that it films through a hole in a box or clothing. For some, this could have some uses.
Lastly, this is at last a camcorder that does not discriminate between left and right handed users. Either way, the screen on the back panel works well.
This camera really is for casual and not too serious camcorder enthusiasts. However, everyone can find a use for it and makes a great back up or secondary camera for those moments that you just need something better than your mobile phone.

Recently decided on the Flip after looking at several alternatives.
Firstly, the video quality is very good, particularly when you consider the price of the Flip. It shoots a great video and it is ideal for me and my family to capture our memories.
It's easy to shoot video. Press the big button to start and the same button to stop. It's also easy to scroll through the videos that you have taken and view them on the Flip.
A nice feature about the ... ...it to your PC, it plugs right in, so no messy lead hanging out fo the front of your PC.
The other thing I really like about the flip is that once you've uploaded your videos onto your PC, they are easy to share and edit with the Flip software. The only limitation is that this Flip can only store up to 2 hours of video on it. At that point, you need to transfer to a PC (or delete) to fit more video on. ...

I got given one of these little Flip camcorders as a gift by my wife for when we were going away and have been really impressed with this little piece of kit.
The camcorder was easy to setup and superbly easy to use as all you have to do with this is point at what you want to film and press the record button to start recording and when you want to stop recording you just press this button once again.
The camera also allows you to zoom a small amount ... ...size and price but the best bit is in the simplicity of uploading your video to your pc thanks to the flip out usb connection of the side of the camcorder meaning that you can simple pull the clip for this to open and upload your photos, unplug the camera, clip the usb back in and wipe your memory and away you go again (i did this whilst on holiday by paying for internet access and uploading this to an e-mail I sent to my secondary e-mail address ...

The FLip Ultra F260 is in my opinion one of the greatest inventions around as its not only small sleek and stylish enough to slide into your pocket, but its just so easy to use, even someone who is literally clueless when it comes to new technology could use it!, it is so easy to use with one- touch recording instant playback and delete , you can connect to your computer save organize and edit videos thanks to the FLIP Ultra's built-in software and ... ...the Flip Ultra allows you to snap still photos from videos and make custom movies. You can even upload videos and publish them online directly on to myspace and YouTube, the quality is very good with 2 gb of memory it records only up to 60 minutes though, but for me its perfect to capture videos of my baby girl and capture her all important milestones and changes as she gets older to share with my parents overseas and with my husband who works hard ...

I bought my flip a few months ago now and I love it. One of the things that atracted me most to this is the price. I got it for £70 but I have been told you can get it even cheaper. I have filmed at least two hours so far and I haven't been able to find any faults. It is a great little gadget just to have in your pocket where ever you go. It comes with a little pocket to keep it in so you don't need worry about it getting scratched. Everyone one ...
