Originally I am from London, but I have been living in Bournemouth now since 2001.
I get home-sick every so often - you know being surrounded by the beach, grass and the sea makes me miss all the pollution ridden dirty grey concrete streets of home. Odd I know.
One thing that keeps me going is that I can quite happily recieve my favourite London radio station, Absolute (previously Virgin) on MW - but it's not great quality I'll admit.
So, when I first heard about these - it was actually through Absolute radio who were running competitions to win them, and after failing to win one myself, I thought - OK, I'll buy one.
Now, it is pretty easy to use, and it has functions similar to the digital channels on TV now where you can pause and rewind live radio - which I haven't used except through boredom when waiting for the kid to finish school.
Like I say, easy to use. Much like a Sat Nav you can take it in and out of the car and you stick it your window like a Sat Nav. However if you do have Sat Nav, this can also be a con - if you think about it, another thing to remember in the morning and another thing stuck to your window.
Another draw back to it is that you may find the cable gets in the way, dependent on where you have it. It is supplied with a in car power supply which you plug into your ciggerrate lighter - which can also be another downside if your Sat Nav starts to lose it's battery life. You can use standard batteries, but it's not as good - the signal seems weaker and it's definately not as loud. As a drummer, I am going deaf so I need things as loud as possible!
Tuning it in is very simple, you select the DAB radio 'wave/address' (whichever you prefer!) and it sends it directly to your car steroe via the FM transmitter - you just need to tune your car stereo into the same 'frequency'. One word of advice though, if your car stereo has an 'aux in' it is much better to use this, I have tried it both ways and found out that it sounds a lot better using this way.
All in all, I have found this a brilliant product to own as I can now listen to my favourtie radio stations in a lot better quality than I am able to - to be honest, it even pips FM frequency a bit.
Downsides though like I have saidf is it is another thing clogging up your windscreen if you already have Sat Nav and another thing you have to remember to take out of the car so it doesn't get stolen! On the bright side, when you do take it out - it does remember your settings so you dont have to start again every time!
It's a good, cheape improvement to your current car radio that you can take from car to car with you - and I heard recently that it is planned, like to TV's, that radio will be switched to Digital from 2012 - so maybe a good idea to get one before the prices are hiked!

So far so good Review ofPure Digital Highway IN-CAR DAB Tunerby

Advantages: Cheap, easy to use Disadvantages: Needs an external aerial to get full advantage (in my case anyway)
...so I went for a Pure Highway, as previously stated these take up more space on the windscreen with cables everywhere. I came up with the solution of fitting it into my centre console armrest, out of sight, open the cover to change channels, luckily my armrest has a 12V socket & a Aux in so I don't have to use the FM transmitter. Unfortunately the aerial cable was too short so I bought a 2.5mm connector 2m extension cable off e-bay.
I tried the windscreen ... ...had 99.99% success rate the pure is more like 75% tbh, often dropping signal in built up areas, I've now ordered an external aerial in the hope that will improve mattersas it could be down to the windows in the Avensis blocking the signal.
Great bit of kit, take your time installing it especially if you don't want cables everywhere. Also I did read somewhere not to plug/unplug the aerial while powered on as it has been reported that it could damage ...

Advantages: Very Portable and very easy to use Disadvantages: Suffers from poor signal in some remote areas
I use the Pure Highway every day in my truck and I have to say it is brilliant. It tunes into a spare FM band on my in cab radio and sounds first class. It is so easy to use and looks great as well. The Pure Highway fits into a small space on my windscreen out of the wiper swipe and keeps me legal. The Highway takes its power from the cigarette lighter and has an internal Arial that is fixed to the windscreen. I found this system ok for most journeys ... ...from digital drop out. The pure allows you to fade this rather than here that awful screeching sound. I eventually purchased an outside Arial that fits on the cab roof via a magnetic base. This allows me 100% coverage all over the UK so far. I rely on my Pure Highway every day and I have to say it has never let me down. The Highway also has an external input and an external output meaning you can plug an ipod into it and use it to listen through ...

Highway is a unique, easy to fit in-car DAB digital radio that also enables you to listen to your iPod/MP3 player. Powered from the in-car power socket and easily attached to your windscreen with a removable flexible mount (just like sat nav) Highway receives DAB stations and transmits them to your car radio on a free FM frequency. Simply tune your car radio to the FM frequency shown on Highway's display to listen to DAB or your iPod/MP3 player.
