    ##Updated 13/10/10 - see end of review## The Pure Highway is a Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) tuner that has been designed for use in a car. Installation is simple and needs no wiring into the vehicle dash as the Pure Highway "broadcasts" the received DAB channel over a low power FM transmitter so that it can be picked up by your own car stereo. In the box as well as the main Pure Highway unit is an in-car power adaptor (plugs into the cigarette lighter socket), windscreen aerial and flexible mount. More about the aerial in a minute.     Advantages Advantages Small, light, good looks, great sound quality.

    Disadvantages Disadvantages hampered by DAB coverage. Bracket can cause unit to bounce if not installed correctly.

    I have had this item for over a year and feel I can now write a review on it. Taking it out of the box, I was impressed with the size, weight and shape of it. It's a good looking piece of kit and complements my Ford Focus nicely. It 'sticks' to its cradle by a magnet at the back but it is exceptionally strong and does not come off easily. On mounting in the car, it was very simple to set up although as I also have a satnav and chargers for phone, the inside of my car looks a bit like Mission Control!     Having owned a DAB radio in the home for a few years prior to purchasing the Pure Highway I had become hooked on BBC 6music, the crystal clear quality of both talksport and Radio 5 along with some of the other DAB exclusive stations. As I'm not particularly a fan of any of the other BBC or local commercial stations morning or drive time shows my journeys to and from work were starting to get repetitive as I slowly worked through my CD collection from A-Z!     Advantages Advantages Improves radio quality, easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Wires can get in the way, another thing to remember

    Originally I am from London, but I have been living in Bournemouth now since 2001. I get home-sick every so often - you know being surrounded by the beach, grass and the sea makes me miss all the pollution ridden dirty grey concrete streets of home. Odd I know. One thing that keeps me going is that I can quite happily recieve my favourite London radio station, Absolute (previously Virgin) on MW - but it's not great quality I'll admit.     Advantages Advantages Cheap, easy to use

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Needs an external aerial to get full advantage (in my case anyway)

    I used to have a DAB radio in my old Vauxhall Vectra company car & when it came to replace it I went for a Toyota which doesn't have a DAB as standard (£1500 upgrade with sat-nav, rear camera etc) even though it has a DAB button so I went for a Pure Highway, as previously stated these take up more space on the windscreen with cables everywhere. I came up with the solution of fitting it into my centre console armrest, out of sight, open the cover to change channels, luckily my armrest has a 12V socket & a Aux in so I don't have to use the FM transmitter.
