About two weeks ago, I purchased a 16gb Flash drive, a Corsair Flash Voyager. It was needed for a presentation I was making and so it was pretty urgent. I paid £42 for it.
I placed the order via Amazon on the Sunday and on Monday, received a notification saying they had received the order ... Read review
I ordered a lens from this company weeks ago which they advised was in stock and would be dispatched the next day. A few days later I received an email asking for a copy of my husband's passport (!!!) plus various other forms of ID - I have NEVER been asked for this kind of information before - if they wanted to verify the card they could have phoned mastercard. With all the identity fraud going on I would be very wary about giving out this kind ... ...told, oh actually we don't need that info after all. Hmmm. Anyway a few days later I received an email saying the item was actually NOT in stock after all, and we would get a refund. HOWEVER, I checked the website and it is reading in stock at a much higher price!!! I phoned under a pseudoname and was told yes it is in stock!! This company is EXTREMELY DODGY and I recommend avoiding at all costs. ...

Advantages: Easy to find Disadvantages: Too quick to take your money and not deliver!
Was really pleased to find what I wanted at a good price. Found purelygadgets on reputable sites such as Play.com and Amazon so assumed they would be ok... So how many more have they sucked-in like me? Lots it seems and I kick myself for not checking them out more thoroughly before ordering.
Lots of placatory emails back in response to queries, going round in circles, empty promises and deceit about dispatch and delivery times. Promised 1-2 days; ...

Advantages: none Disadvantages: Guarantee was worth nothing
I ordered a Sony Camera from Purely Gadgets, and after 11 months it developed a fault (the view-finder was very dim). I returned it to Purely Gadgets as my camera was covered by their 18 month guarantee.I was informed that the repairs could take more than 28 days. At this point I was quite concerned as I had done some research online, and read many negative reviews about them (some happy customers out there that liked the prices-but I didnt read one ... ...I had learnt that their items are mainly grey imports-meaning the Sony warranty on my camera was void (the sony guarantee paper work was missing when my camera was delivered), you simply have to trust that they will honour their own guarantee).
A month later my camera was returned, with no accompanying paper work at all. I asked for a copy of the report. They emailed back with the 'report' attatched-very basic, and the fault found was that it had ...
