Well, not at all. I put just a few in her bowl, and she just gulped them down. I put another portion, and those went down just as quick. I was amazed! At last, something Bagheera likes!

I'm not going to attempt a full translation of the ingredients (as I'm in France, the packet is in French), but what i can translate is this;
Chicken, rice, sweet corn, soja flour, fish oil and salt. Those are the main ingredients.
After having had a few nice comments on my cats name, i thought I'd write about her....because i love her dearly.
Bagheera is not an ordinary cat....for many reasons....OK, i admit, I'm not a connaisseur as to cat behaviour, but when i was a kid, we had three.....and after 20 years without a pet, i came by Bagheera accidentally.....

I went round to a friends place, and there, in a flower pot, she had 4 tiny kittens....and when i say tiny...i mean a week a couple of weeks old. She was waiting for her brother to come and fetch them to free them in an industrial zone, where live many stray cats.
I love cats, but I've always thought it was mean to close a cat indoors, and seeing where i live at the moment, with a main road which goes around my building, i would never have had the idea to take a cat home.....
Out of the 4 kittens, three were really tabby colors, and short furred, and one all black with long fur. I picked up a tabby (no, i couldn't resist....they are soooo sweet when they are tiny.) It fitted in my hand, and started making strange barking sounds to go back with his brothers...so i put him back. The fluffy black one tried to jump out of the flower pot as i put her brother back, so i picked her up....
It was love at first touch...she climbed into my neck and dug her claws so deeply into my jumper that i couldn't get her loose...she never went back into the pot!

Having taken her home, i had to find food for her....as she was so small, and should have been drinking her mum's milk, i went to the chemist to find a substitution. She drank special kitten powdered milk for a month before wanting solid food.
My vet gave me a sample of vet dry cat food...which she loved, but the packet only lasted a week...so i went shopping for more...I bought some kitten normal priced dry food, which Bagheera found rather uninteresting. I therefore bought a different make...and a third...and a forth....Bagheera would rather starve than eat all these strange looking and tasting thingies.
One day i saw a television ad. about Purina One... Satisfied or you get your money back. Seeing the price of the packet, i thought OK, I'll buy it, she won't like it, and I'll get my money back. The kitten Purina One dry cat food comes in a pink glossy packet. They are really small, round and dark brown. The only kitten flavour Purina make is chicken. The bag weighs 450g. They recommend this version until kitty is one year old. I'm not going to attempt a full translation of the ingredients (as I'm in France, the packet is in French), but what i can translate is this;
Chicken, rice, sweet corn, soja flour, fish oil and salt. Those are the main ingredients.
On the packet, a few promises are made;
They reinforce Kitty's immunity system, they are good for her skin and fur, for her digestion, for her teeth and gums, and for her muscles and bones.
After Bagheera got through this packet, i thought I'd try an adult Purina One, to change the taste of her meals a bit. I bought Purina One Salmon and rice. To her, these were just as tasty. The same promises on the blue shiny bag of 1,5kg. They are double the size of the kitten ones.
Then she tried adult chicken and rice, which is also a shiny blue bag. These too went down a treat!
I didn't ask for my money back, because the results were really obvious...Firstly, she loved them all...secondly, her long fur was really beautiful and shiny, and thirdly, she digested them properly, and that was made obvious seeing her poos were smaller, harder and not as smelly as before...not to mention that she stopped miaowing when she'd poo. I was really satisfied. So was she!
Purina One does come in other versions. For indoor cats, which apparently limits hairball formations. For elderly cats, and for overweight cats! There are other flavours too ; Beef and rice, turkey and rice, and as i already mentioned, chicken and rice and salmon and rice. There are also 5kg bags, 1,5kg bags and 450g bags.
Now seeing as I'm not in England, i won't attempt to give you a price in pounds. Here the 450g bag is sold 2,55€, the 1,5kg is at 5,84€, and the 5kg bags are around 10€, but as i never bought one of these huge bags, i can't be more precise than that. (1€ = approx. 65p). I'll let you get your calculators out if you want to compare French prices with British ones.
I guess all is said, although i didn't tell you why Bagheera is such a strange cat (apart from the fact that she'd rather starve than eat something other than Purina One).
Here are a few examples;
<(¿)> Although she has a cat tree, a couple of baskets with a blanket in, and a cat house, Bagheera prefers to sleep in the bath tub....even when it's wet!
<(¿)> Every time we eat salad, she jumps on the table to have a leaf...especially if it has a nice vinegar salad dressing.
<(¿)> She loves mustard! Much to my surprise, the first time i left her my plate with chopped up steak in it, she left the steak but ate all the mustard! Strange!
<(¿)> She loves water, every time a tap is running, she jumps up to stick her paws under.
<(¿)> She's a real panther...we chose her name well. She loves hiding to attack us when we are the least expecting it! When we wear jeans, she climbs up us as though we were trees...clever though, 'coz she never does it when we have thinner trousers or shorts.
<(¿)> She loves flour, dried rice, and dried pasta...i try to hide these, but if ever i forget to put a packet away, she rips it open and eats it! Her poor tummy!
<(¿)> She loves dogs....I let her out in the corridor of my building...Every time, she waits behind my neighbours door, hoping to come by her two dogs, one of which is lovely to her, the other is scared of her!
Thanks for reading my cat tails! Hope you enjoy the pictures... Greetings to you all, .*´¨ ) ¸.´¸.´¨) ¸.*¨) (¸.´ (¸.´ .´ : (´¸.*´¯`*-->Squiggly Squidge! ¨˜"°ºº°"˜¨¨˜"°ºº°"˜¨¨˜"°ºº°"˜¨¨¨˜"°ºº°"˜¨¨

Purina is actually part of the Nestle company. It actually traces its roots back to 1894 when the founder William H. Danforth began producing feed for various farm animals. Purina One was introduced in 1986 as their first super-premium pet food.

Advantages: Cats like it, stayfresh bag, widely available Disadvantages: Not cheap
...back to the review - Purina One, in this house at least, seems to be the one brand of dry cat food that has stood the test of time. It must taste good because my three cats just love it - their preferred flavour is the Adult variety Salmon and Rice. They also do a wider range which covers ... ...keep the product fresh. Purina recently did a 30 day pet challenge and invited people who wanted to take the challenge to apply for coupons and test whether their pet's health improved eating the food.
They claim the basic product will improve skin and coat condition, help maintain urinary tract health, keep gums and teeth health and help digestion. Certainly my three seem to be thriving on it and they don't appear to get bored of it which is important. ...

Advantages: Available from supermarkets Disadvantages: don't know of any
Purina ONE first appeared in the shops some three or four years ago. If I remember rightly, it was then packaged in a sort of glossy chocolate brown bag. After a while it became very hard to get and then disappeared completely, which was unfortunate if you had just managed to find that it suited your cats (or dogs if you chose that variety).
Recently it has reappeared – now clothed in metallic royal blue and complete with one of those sealable tops. ... ...other dry foods such as Purina Pro Plan but it is useful to be able to buy it from a supermarket occasionally if you can’t get to a more specialised pet food stockist. I do consider it to be better than a lot of the other dry food stocked by supermarkets.
Would my cats recommend this? I’m sure they would – I certainly don’t think they would be prepared to share it though.
I hope will help you make a decision – thank you for reading. ...

Purina One. It looked ok, it was in a shiny blue packet. I showed it to my 3 fussy cats and they looked at me as if I'd given them dessicated elephant droppings.
''Try it.'' I said. They looked at me as if to say, ''You try it!''.
After sitting on the kitchen floor with their food bowls in my lap and picking up a few dried biscuits I made 'yummy' noises and told my cats that it was good for them.
My siamese cat looked at the food then at me then ... ...my cats anything else now. Purina One Adult Chicken & Rice is the one they love the most.
It has everything my cats need. It helps keep their teeth, bones, fur and digestive system in top working order. And it doesn't smell as bad coming out the 'other end' in comparison to tinned or pouched meat.
After only a few weeks I noticed an improvement in my cats. They are more energetic. Their coats really shine. They are much happier cats.
There are ...

Advantages: Eaten readily even by fussy eaters Disadvantages: Quite expensive
I have kept Borders Collies for the last thirty-odd years and have found that this food - Pro Plan -which is made by Purina - is one that suits them better than most.
It comes in a range of different types catering for Puppies, Puppies (large breeds), Adult, Adult (mini), Performance, Light and Senior. The flavours of these are either Chicken and Rice or Lamb and Rice.
The bags also come in a range of sizes from 3Kg - 7.5Kg to 15 Kilos. The prices are from approximately £9.05 to £33.55 depending on size and variety.
My present dog - again a Border Collie - and (typically) inclined to be hyperactive even though he is now ten years old, has enjoyed this for years and it is one of the few food that he will eat readily. I have just changed him to the 'Light' (or occasionally 'Senior') variety and he has calmed down amazingly ...

Advantages: looks lovely and no added sugar Disadvantages: A few pennies more than a lot of dog food
Winalot Roasts is quite new on the market.
When we have a family roast I always do extra of everything for my dog and he loves it so seeing the word "Roast" caught my eye.
Recently I have learnt that dog food can be a bit like food for humans and can have a lot of extras such as vitamins and sugars in them which is not always suitable for your dog.
I found this out when we had a baby in the home and didnt want a hyper active or barking dog! I was told to look at ingredients on the tin.
This surprised me as the one I had been giving him (you might have read my previous ciao on this) had sugar added.
Winalot by Purina is one brand that does not have sugar mentioned so I presumed, and rightly so, that Winalot Roasts wouldnt either.
I buy my dog the 1200g tins which cost between £1.30 and £1.45 which yes it is more ...

Advantages: Tifa loves them, good balance of nutrients Disadvantages: None
Purina Go-Cat Complete Kitten:
Purina Go-Cat Complete Kitten is a complete dry food for Kittens upto one year old. This is one of Tifa?s favourites which she always has to hand whenever she is hungry.
Dry food is great when you have cats; it won?t go off so quickly so you can leave some out all the time for whenever your cat wants to graze which they seem to like doing. Tifa still insists on ?wet? food everyday but I only give her one pouch now and the rest of her nutrition comes from these biscuits.
The box is mainly yellow with a pink bit at the side and two cute ginger kittens and the logo on the front. (I should just mention that the flavour I have is chicken, carrots and milk nuggets but I have not seen another flavour). All the usual information like ingredients, nutrition and all the necessary product promotion stuff. There is ...
