Pyrex Classic Bowl

Now this review will be a short one by my standards but there isn't a lot I can say about my trusty Pyrex bowl without waffling for Britain, so I'll keep it factual! I have had my large Pyrex 2 litre bowl now ever since I first got married in 1978. I am now on my third marriage but my wonderful Pyrex bowl is still going strong! For the last 25 years I have been involved with boats, big ones little ones, posh ones and those that are a bit rough!. Much of my time has been spent as a cook/stewardess and I have learnt through experience which cookware is going to last the course and which is going to go for an early bath into the Briny ! The Pyrex Classic Bowl isn't perhaps as versatile as other Pyrex products in my cupboard, in fact I only have two uses for it - as a mixing bowl and for occasionally making up a big salad or fruit salad for everyone to help themselves. It's a thick glass bowl, seemingly unbreakable considering the amount of times I've dropped the thing and incredibly easy to keep clean. I didn’t realise how much money I would have to spend when I first moved out of my mums house. I wanted to buy everything as cheap as possible, but my mum pointed out that just because its cheap it doesn’t mean it is good value for money. Going cheap on cookware usually means it wont last long. My mum has always used Pyrex products and from my memory, she has never had to replace any, so when I was purchasing household bits and pieces, Pyrex dishes was definitely on my list. I'm very health concious and eat healthily. As a result, 99.9% of the meals made and consumed in my household are made from scratch as I hate the thought of eating food with added chemicals or unnecessarily large amounts of sugar/salt. One of the main meals that I make is simply a large salad with fish or meat mixed into it, although I do also make various other dishes that need to be put together in a bowl and mixed up to either enchance the flavour (eg salads) or mix them together (eg cakes and sauces).
