We bought a new 2.0GX5 door in 2001. We were immediately bowled over, and remained so for the 2 years that we had it.
Firstly, it looks fantastic, chunky and rugged and very trendy-ours was black and we were always getting admiring glances and comments.
More importantly, it handled like a dream. Being in permanent 4 wheel drive, it holds the road like glue. It is extremely stable even on sharp bends and great at taking off from a standing start at dodgy junctions where you need to get out fast.
The engine is second to none. It cruises well at high speed, and allows you to safely overtake when you wouldn't normally contemplate it-it's just so powerful and so reliable.
