Advantages: Good Auto, total manual control, F1.8 lens, Image quality Disadvantages: Too big for my pocket! Shutter lag.
...I use my 5050 for both snapshots & professional work. It has survived 8 months of travelling in a LowePro pouch attached to my motorbike jacket as I ride around London - so it's tough.
Image quality is excellent - I have made A3+ prints on an Epson 1290 & they are perfect. In some circumstances, there is colour fringing around bright areas but this is rare.
The F1.8 lens and the Night mode (which reduces image noise) are great for low light shots and more than make up for the ASA speed limit. It is also very useful for limiting depth of field, e.g. on portraits. The minimum aperture of f8 is a nuisance.
I tend to shoot on the small XD card that came with the camera as it's very fast. When it's full, I transfer images to a 256MB CF card in the camera.
Macro mode works extremely well with no distortion.
Flash coverage is iffy but then...

Advantages: So easy to use in the automatic mode. Disadvantages: A camera for snappers of a higher calibre than myself.
...I bought my 5050 in January this year. My only previous experience of digital photography was with a basic camera made by an other company. I purchased mine for considerably less that they are advertised on the internet, around £450. Advantages: Good Budget all rounder Disadvantages: No bluetooth and doesn't make a cuppa
...'s not that expensive, also I buy compatibles and I can get them for £10 for a full set which is a lot cheaper, I buy them here:

My overall opinion is that this is a really good all-in-one for the price, it would have been nice if there had been blue-tooth, but I would definitely recommend it.
Also I saw it recently on sale at £44.99 so it's worth looking around
